I am boycotting Western Union

Monday, June 14th, 2004 I went to the western union website to place a money order to be delivered second day to where it needed to go. It still hasn't gotten there. On Tuesday I e-mailed them to see what happened to it. This is what they sent me...

We apologize for the inconvenience. We have experienced some difficulties with the 2nd day DHL service. Any order that was placed between 6/3/2004 and 6/15/2004 may be delayed up to 3 to 7 business days.

I happen to work for DHL and I know that is a bunch of bullshit. We tried to call them to see if we can get a tracking number and they gave us the runaround. I sent them an e-mail asking for a tracking number and this is what they sent...

We apologize for any delay you have experienced with this order.
Unfortunately, our second day shipping through DHL does not provide tracking information. We regret any inconvenience.

NOT good enough. They said they would refund me the money for the second day service, which is a whopping 8 dollars, I don't care about the money. I paid for second day service for a reason, I wanted it to get there asap.

It is now Thursday, June 24, 2004 and as far as I know, the money order hasn't arrived at it's destination location.

I will never be using Western Union again.

Damn, Amy. That sucks. Especially since you acutally work for DHL and would be able to get to the bottom of it if provided a tracking number.

I had a problem with Western Union as well. Someone sent me a WU money order as payment for an ebaY acution. I assumed (and perhaps this was ignorant on my part) that you could cash it wherever they gave out Western Union money orders as well. I tried every Western Union place in a 10 mile radius. They looked at me like I was trying to hand them a bomb. "Oh you have to deposit that into your checking account" Well, what if I didn't have a checking account (I did, but I was just lazy to drive to the bank and angry and fighting on principle). I tried going to a check cashing place to do it: same horrified look. Apparently, you can only deposit these money orders into accounts so if you've not got an account you're up shits creek.

I know Sheepy also has horror stories from these mongoloids. I'm not sure how convenient it is for you, but if you need to ever send a money order its best to just go to the Post Office and do it. I never had any problems with them. I feel your pain :mad:
