With a flashlight?
What the fuck?
This tape don't look too good. Unless this guy was attacking the cops before the taping started, there's seemingly no reason for him to get the beating he did once he was on the ground.
Ouch.

I watched this LIVE yesterday morning on FOX -
notice how the helicopter light goes out AFTER the beating begins.

I don't know what to say. White cops on Black people, bad...White cops on white people, bad...Black cops on black people, bad...Black cops on white people, bad. No matter how you slice it, an authority figure that is drunken with power always disgusts me. I think this happens for a number of reasons. One of them being the fact that the police officers that patrol areas that have a higher black population, come from areas that are not populated by a significant amount of African Americans. So when they go on patrol, they can not connect with us as to them they feel as if they've come into another country. Furthermore, they feel that they do not need to respect us as we are "sub urban culture", more over, second class citizens. I welcome anyone to come and say otherwise. I am not trying to put up a racial devide, I'm just telling of the disgusting reality of this situation.

Cops hand out beatings for people who run from the cops in areas where the laws provide for low penalties for doing it. Guys on the street know they won't get much added time for running, but they know they'll get a beating.
This guy just finished leading the cops on a chase and my guess would be that the beating was the informal punishment that cops hand out. Not saying it's right, especially with the flashlight to the head, but it is reflective of the common problem of cops taking the laws into their own hands because local legislators have failed to give them the legal tools to deal with crime. It's surprising that cops really have very little input into the legal process that governs their jobs. But I'm just speculating.

Its a lot like what Chris Rock said in one of his bits a few years back.
Telling brothers not to run, beacuse if whitey's gotta chase you, he's bringing an ass-beating with him.
Pretty funny at the time.

Still pretty funny now.
I've seen enough episodes of "Cops" to know that if you run, and the more you make the cops run, the worse off you're going to be when they get their hands on you...and that's even with the cameras on.
Doesn't make what this thread is about OK, but I wouldn't run from the cops unless I was the fucking Flash.

So, since he only got hit 11 times, does that mean he'll get $11 million?
I'da taken Rodney's beating for all that bread.
Still sucks though. A few bad pigs ruins the entire slaughterhouse.

I suppose that it was inevitable that it would happen one day, but still, it comes as a shock to me: I agree with Yerdaddy. At least on this topic.
The guy led the cops on a chase, probably endangering I don't know how innocents in the process. Common sense should dictate that if you're going to do that, expect the cops to treat you a little rough once they do catch you. Hell, Jim Beam's right, Chris Rock has a routine on that. Wasn't that number 2 of what you shouldn't do when dealing with the cops? "Don't run: cause when the cops catch you, they're bringing an ass-beating with them." I'm not saying it's right, but it's understandable.

hitting a guy 11 times with a flashlight while he is pinned down by other cops is a little rough?
Scenes like this make some people giggle when bad cops get shot in the face

Alright, let me put it to you this way.
As far as I'm concerned, after leading the cops on a merry chase through POPULATED areas, in which at any given moment this fuckwad could have struck and killed an innocent citizen or caused gods knows how many accidents or property damage, 11 hits to the face with a flashlight is getting off EASY.

Not to condone it, but where would the outcry be if this guy mowed down 2 kids in his chase ?
Would it get this much attention ?

But he didn't.
Why are people talking like the cops are blind, and couldn't see what this guy actually did?
