I beleive you missed the boat sir.
That was a montage of the comparisons Bush's opponents have made of George Bush to Hitler. Did you not notice the fact that every clip was someone slandering Bush? That was a clip of a video someone made that compared Bush to Hitler. How did you not see that? Your thread title is incorrect.

Chickenhawk is right. Although when you criticize your opponent for criticizing you, it absolutely reeks of desperation.

At FIRST GLANCE is does look like there is a comparison to the Nazi's until you see the MoveOn.org logo. Then it becomes painfully apparent that it is just edited clips of angry democrats screaming about Bush. Just calling it how I see it, I represent the Confused and Bewildered Party.

The nazi clips are lifted from an ad submitted to MoveOn.org among hundreds of other submissions. It was never aired publicly by MoveOn.org or any other responsible democrat. But this ad uses it just like we've all seen Se7en do - it's repetitive use as a straw man to associate mainstream democrats and liberals with far-left nuts.
Like HBox said, it reeks of desperation. At least Kerry's campaign isn't trying to associate the Bush administration with the extremist views of FreeRepublic.com.

Hey I never said it was a good ad, nor did I say it was appropriate... All's I'm saying is that it doesn't compare Democrats to Nazis. That's just a fact.

That ad was awful, pretty much incomprehehnsible, but it wasn't comparing Democrats to Nazis.
This is gonna come off as an attack on Jerry. It's not aimed specifically at him, it's just that this is a good illustration of my point. It's another example of overzealous, politically-minded individuals using anything and everything to discredit the other side. It's unfortunate that this is what politics has become. Anything and everything 'the other guy' does is scrutinized and something bad can be found in it.
Had Bush been president and okayed the strikes in Bosnia, Republicans would not be crying 'wag the dog', and Democrats would have been up in arms. If Gore had won in 2000 and gone into Iraq, Democrats would be singing his praises as the great liberator, and Republicans would be ranting about globalization. It's getting silly.
This 2 party, farce of a system has degenerated so far that anything close to an open exchange of ideas has long since gone the way of the Dodo, and forget about truth. Truth is no longer relevant in DC. These days it's about having the biggest microphone, because if no one can talk over you, then no one can counter anything you say. Whoever shouts loudest (Michael Moore, Rush Limbaugh, et al.) is right.

What about the "responsible" democrats here who've made repeated comparisons between Bush and Nazis?
Wait, why am I asking - I don't even care to hear your response.

CH is right jerry. met him half way at least.
hey, how about the federal judge that attacked Bush indirectly through the Supreme Court when he said that Bush was appointed not elected, in a similar fashion as Hitler.
I guess he's not a fan of the constitution.

Sorry, dude.
The point of the ad is not to compare democrats to nazis, but actually to show how silly it is that Bush has been comparded to Hitler.

Just a friendly reminder:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn?pagename=article&node=&contentId=A8416-2000Jun27
There's something about Bill. President Clinton has always had an extraordinary knack for driving Republicans--and often Democrats--absolutely 'round the bend. How else to explain the recurrent comparisons to Adolf Hitler that keep surfacing when folks talk about Clinton and his administration?
For example, retiring <b>Rep. Helen Chenoweth-Hage (R-Idaho)</b>, commenting on one of Clinton's national monument designations, said, "This president is engaging in the largest land grab since the invasion of Poland."
<b>Rep. John Shadegg (R-Ariz.)</b> went a bit further a couple of weeks ago when Clinton designated Arizona's Ironwood Forest a national monument. "I would draw a parallel to Hitler," Shadegg said. "He eroded the will of the German people to resist evil."
Our favorite is <b>Arkansas Republican Rep. Jay Dickey</b>'s recent fundraising letter reminding supporters they can give him $1,000 for the primary and another $1,000 in the general election campaign. He doesn't want anyone to "later . . . say to me that I should have reminded you of the threats," he said.
"Just as people who read Hitler's 'Mein Kampf' and then later were surprised at the evils of the 3rd Reich [sic]," Dickey said, "we have the blueprint for what the White House plans to do: defeat me! This is because I not only dared to vote my conscience on the impeachment issue, but dared to do it after a publicly expressed threat that I would lose the election if I did. Are we going to let an astounding abuse of power go unanswered?"
Election defeat and gas chambers? Folks who survived or lost close family in the Holocaust might be offended at this trivialization of evil.
My, what a beautiful glass house!

so would you have looked at it more objectively if I had put, "Bush ad features Angry Democrats making speeches, as well as Hitler Making speeches" and given your opinion on the piece, rather than my title?
Or is it just all my fault the world sucks right now?

Make your own decisions
Did you mean that or did you mean "make your own decision and if it doesn't agree with the one I reached I'll tell you why you're wrong"?
would you have looked at it more objectively if I had put,"Bush ad features Angry Democrats making speeches, as well as Hitler Making speeches" and given your opinion on the piece, rather than my title?
I would have looked at it and said that it was a silly, confusing ad. I would never have made the Dem Nazi comparison. Since you said it was comparing Democrats to Nazis and asked our opinion, I assumed you wanted to know if I thought the same thing. I didn't. I'm sorry.

I didn't bother watching the video clip, but when I saw the thread title I imediately thought of "Godwin's Law." It basically says that when people are in an argument, and one of them resorts to calling the other one a Nazi, they've automatically lost the argument because they've got nothing better to say and therefore have stooped to the lowest level possible.

That's precisely the point of the ad. Moveon.org are the ones that violated "Godwin's Law". The point of the ad is to say "Those angry people that are yelling about me, and comparing me to Hitler are wrong."
