I was at a meeting with half my department and after the new manager said her piece, she opened it up to discussion. We were adding to the meeting and getting our points across and I stretch my arms over my head because I was stiff from sitting so long and my shoulder pops out of its socket and I clutch my arm to my chest and go Ah! and it pops back in with this loud fleshy sound and everyones like; What happened?? Are you ok?? and Im like, my shoulder popped out of its socket! And the girl sitting next to me nearly faints. The manager looks at me with horror on her face but I keep my composure and we continue on with the meeting.

Yuck. That's the fucking most worst feeling in the world. It used to happen to me a lot when I was younger.
One time in college, we were coming back from the bars, and some ass started picking on my farmer friend, Pete, who was this real, quiet, shy and sweet guy. I decided to stick up for him and went off on him. I think he called me a cunt as he was getting off the bus. I just remember following him off the bus and hearing my other friend yell, "Jennie, don't do it!" The guy was about a foot taller than I was, and I swung at him and punched him in the face, and my shoulder popped out. Totally freaked me out. I ended up going to the hospital cuz it didn't pop back in. The friend of this guy started freaking out, cuz he was drunk and on acid, and the cops that took me to the hospital wanted me to press charges, even though I hit the guy.

As I flailed it back towards my chest, I did indeed nearly hit her with it, because I had no control of it at that time. It was the sound of it going back into the socket that got her.

Just an update. I went to my Dr and he sent me to a orthopedic dr and he x rayed my shoulder and said it is a rotator cuff problem and its very common and he himself has it. He injected it with cortizone and said it should help, but if it doesnt, I might need surgery. When I was 15 I fell on the ice and it tore out of the socket, but I didnt have it looked at. There were paramedics at the fire and they put me in a sling and I wore that for a few days. It would happen from time to time while I slept (I use to have my arm up under my pillow) and then I change my sleeping posture. Then, maybe 3 years later I was tackled during football and it happened again. Then in college twice more, once attempting to skii and another time swimming. I leaped over a fence 2 years ago and it happened again and then again last year when I was jumping down flights of steps. Now again at that meeting. So I guess its come out of the socket maybe 10 times or so. It usually pulls itself back into joint and the pain is horrible and the past few times I began experiencing numbness in my fingers. Mike Teacher recommended I see a Dr so I went. Has anyone had or know anyone whos had that surgery, and what are the results? Does it pop out again after? What about range of motion?
