well i have been in Brooklyn for about 3 weeks now...

everything is goin good (but my one internship SUX- while the other one in NYC is pretty cool)

the only downside is that i dont know anyone in brooklyn/ NYC to hang out with (i.e from the board or own my own terms)

dont get me wrong- my roommates are cool BUT they are both drom kansas and graduated together- they have their own inside jokes and stories and whatever- so AT TIMES i feel like the ODDMAN OUT

I am a very shy person and i am not one to go out to the local lounges, bars, cafe`s, etc to go up to a STRANGER and go "hey whats your name"....

i feel lonely- which is ironic.. WHO COULD FEEL LONELY in new york city?

Come by my building in Metrotech on Thursdays, they have live bands playing for the next few months in the Commons. Free. Plus, they have 2 new resturants near there that are cool and not too expensive. Its on Jay St by Polytechnic University. They usually are around noon. Sometimes I just grab some food and hang out listening to the bands under the shade of those trees and watch people dance and people watch. Some cool stores near there too. I got my gay slippers there! LOL

I just moved into a house with a guy I work with, and his friend, and it's almost the exact same thing. They graduated togther, they work together, they hang with the same people, and I'm the odd man out. I have spent alot of time with their dog, so hopefully the dog will put in a good word with the boys! It's even worse for me, I live out on Long Island. I have to actually get in my car, and drive somewhere to get rejected. Once I get a computer at home, my post total on this forum may just skyrocket.

Check out Brooklyn Heights. Amazing! great view of lower manhattan too. Nice shops on Montigue St an a million old cathedrals on every corner. restored brownstones. Hottys galore!

Feisty I take it you are in downtown brooklyn? if you are adventuresome, you can take the fifth ave bus into Bay Ridge or the R train. there are many bars and clubs along fourth and Fifth Ave down in the 70's, 80's and 90's. That fabulous band CRACKCASE played a few weeks ago in Bay Ridge. there is also the Botanic Gardens and the Brooklyn Museum down Flatbush Ave by Eastern Parkway. The B41 Flatbush Ave bus can take you there or you can take the 2 or 3 train to either Grand Army Plaza and walk a little past the Civil War Arc and the Kennedy Memorial. if you like the beach you can take the 2 or 5 train to Flatbush Ave and then get the Q35 bus to Riis Park in the Rockaways as well.

i am NEAR downtown about 10 min or so drive (with traffic) the R is what i take to go to NYC my subway stop is 25th street and i live on 23rd
