how to tell the new boss how WE run things

Recently we hired a new senior in our department. Hes been with the Company for over 4 years now, and hes trying to change things that dont need to be changed. As a department we have always been self efficient. We stick to our own areas in the store and get done what needs to be done no questions no problems. So this guy comes in and bassically screws things up, treats us as if its our first day on the job and we have no idea what to do. What we ,or I need to tell him in the best way possible because he seems like an asshole is that we need someone to point out our week spots and change that, not our strong points or our daily routine. If he tells us what should be done in a different way from what we are doing how can I or We as a team tell him that he honeslty needs to settle down and instead of putting his foot down so hard about stuff that we can do without and problems, kindly leave us alone and worry more about what we can do better instead of what is allready being done fine.

I work for the largest heath club in America. Last month our GM got fired for sexual harisment with one of our sales persons.(she got 8 grand in a settlement) anywho, we got a new GM and her wanted to change shit around. He made me tuck my shirt in, come in on time shit like that. He put out flyers for all of the members to rate our proformance and any comments on how to improve the club. Now 2 months later he is way less strick and only gives a shit when his boss is in the club. With that said, relax. Your boss will give up trying to change when he gets tired of trying to change shit.

we just got in a new deputy director. he was a NYS trooper. He's having a hard time adjusting to and understanding the difference between law enforcement and regulatory enforcement.

They say the "new broom sweeps clean" when a new boss takes over. I have had it happen in my area too. What we usually do is since they are treating like we dont "know anything", we basically act like we are clueless without their constant direction. At some soon point, they erupt and either say "you figure it out!!" or "how did you do this before I came along??" and at that point, they "let go" of the reins they think they have to hold so tightly on, because unless they do, they cant get "their" work done. But everyone in the area has to go along with it to make it effective.

that is hands down the best advice you'll get. try that and see what happens
