Music download sies?

Im looking for a site that I can download music from that isnt like Kazaa or Limewire or one of those programs you have to download. All of those sites seem to fuck up my computer. Anyone know of any good sites?

soulseek is not as invasive, and is good for a song or two ...

try some bit torrent sites as an alternative ... sharingthegroove.org is an amazing site for concerts, bootlegs and session outtakes, it's also good jumping point to other sites/communities ...

I just tried sharingthegroove.org but its confusing. How do I download the shows? What program do you use to open them?

here is the program: bit torrent (http://www.bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/download.html)

sing up/register at a site, find a listing, save the file attachment to your hard drive, execute the file and the torrent will do the rest ...

with most p2p netoworks, a file is downloaded 'in order' .... bit torrents will download the file randomly: it allocates all the space first, and downloads any available data ... the entire batch of songs usually won't work until the entire torrent is finalized

the site is great, but all the files are 'lossless' which are huge and your hard drive will quickly fill up ... i for one, don't get the anti-mp3 thing and usually convert the files to a much smaller version

Shareaza is a p2p program, but it does the same thing as bit torrent with the downloading of any available data. It also doesn't screw up your computer like Kazaa does either. It's really good.
