If at all possible, take "get a tattoo on your forearm the day before you go to work wearing a long-sleeved shirt" off your To Do list.

Try putting on some A&D and wrapping that shit in some seran wrap. Then wrap a ace bandage LIGHTly around it. No bleeding coloured ink onto your shirt and no chaffing the tat. Ta da.

Try a chest tat with bra straps.

Don't get one. It's more rebellious now to NOT get a tattoo since it is so commonplace.

Genital piercing is the way to go.

While I appreciate your sentiment:
1. It's a little late for me. My most recent additon is my 15th piece.
2. I'm not really concerned with being rebellious, I just like pretty pictures on my arms.

And no air to promote healing either. I appreciate the shirt-saving/pain-reducing tip, but I don't want to prolong the process.

OK then. Rock on. You're doing it for the right reason.

Um, i have two sleeves and my entire back done, you only do this for 3 days. It makes it heal faster and prevents it from drying out causing scabs. It scabbing process is almost completely aleviated and you don't have to worry about retouching or cracking. Just a suggestion.

Interesting.
Seeing as how I've always been told that it's important to let new work "breathe", I just assumed that keeping the skin covered like that would make healing take longer. I may just have to try that tomorrow. thx.

It's really awesome...despite the a&D and seran wrap...lol. But you do it the day of the tattoo, SLEEP IN IT, and wear it as much as possible for like 3 days. it doesn't allow for a scab to form, but from washing each night with gentle anti-bacterial soap, all the gooky scab just falls off on it's own. After the 3 days of A&D seran wrap fun, you just wash and lotion with a non-fragrance lotion like lubiderm. The intensity of colour and sharpness of the A&D/Seran wrap tats compared to the 'let it scab, just lotion it every two seconds' tats is f-in amazing. Good luck!

Being a tattoo artist, heavily tattooed, and having a wardrobe full of ink stained clothes, I can tell you your best bet would probably to have been going really light with the A&D (as mentioned, air is the best thing) and rebandaging is usually only suggested for like fry cooks, welders and the like (splattering hot things don't really help the healing.)

In the future, a heavier oxford shirt (if you have to be dressy) is usually good. the inside will take a staining, but there is almost no bleed through usually. and obviously, darker color is better, less noticable. and ALWAYS go light with the ointments; more is NEVER better!

P.S. What was it?? any pics for us?

HaHa - Thanks, bro. I love it. I honestly think it's awesome that it's so big, yet so feminine.
It was too fucking funny when I was at the shop explaining what I wanted to my buddy that did the work. He kept asking me, "Wait, are you serious?", and I kept answering with "It's got to be real pink." With half the ridiculous shit that I have on me (most of which he did), you'd think he'd know better than to question my pretty ballerina.

BT, that's a kickass way to show your love for your daughter.

I'm always going to look at my parents as not having tired hard enough from now on.

Everyone who has a parent that doesn't have their name tattooed on them should call them crying, "Why?"

You need to look more angry in that picutre. That would make it perfect.

Spring term is almost over, and I'm really hating my job. My lease on my apartment is amost run out. The tags on my car expire next week. If I'm ever going to do it, this just seems like a good time to kill myself..</center>

I'll get right on that for my next photoshoot. hahaha
It's not like its a picture I plan on keeping or anything. It just happened to be my current webcam image (a friend of mine that I'm not gonna see until the weekend was anxious to see how it came out) when Born Too Loose asked if I had a pic of it.

Yeah, i'm just kidding around, of course.

I was going to insert of picture of myself modeling my only tattoo, looking angry. But I balked at the last minute.

Got a little Tom Sizemore look going there.

Sizemore kicks ass; especially in Heat.
