I`ve Lived here on Long Island for 3 years and I`ve never seen anything like it! Every single day, even Sunday, when I get in my car and drive to work, there are dozens of Aliens on the corners of the town where I live. Yeah, because a mile and a half's worth of people willing to work is always a bad thing, and it costs the American tax payer ALOT of money to not pay them unemployment when they can't work, and pay them half what they would a legal citizen to wash their dishes or mow their lawn. It's also really fucked up that the American tax payer has to foot the bill for illegal immigrants' American born children. Those children don't deserve to get educated because, in theory, they were born here ILLEGALLY. Illegally because an imaginary line was drawn along the sand that said the dark skinned people south of it were not to come and go on the land that they'd lived on through all of history as they pleased.

Would really be nice if your facts were better than "highly doubt". The IRS estimates that the biggest area of fraud in the system is with the earned income credit, but thats not important. What is is that we should ALL pay our taxes rich poor etc.

People in "cash" businesses drain money from the system. They use your town's (city, state etc) resources and don't put back into the system. The same thing with illegal tax shelters the Government is big enough and bad enough to tackle both problems at the same time. They are not mutually exclusive.

Lastly there always will be illegal immigration into this country. You can't stop it and there ain't no way they are going to be deported. The best thing to do would be to bring them into the system so they can pay their taxes and not be abused by the people that hire them.

Didn't say they were. Nor did I say illegals should "get away" with not paying taxes. My point simply was that you'd probably have to get a LOT of illegals to make up for even just one of the "fat cats" and their tax cheats. My intended emphasis was that if avoiding taxes is the "real" problem, there are bigger and more singular and more obvious targets to go for first than the illegals. Everyone should pay...but someone who jumped the border and isn't paying paying a couple thousand a year isn't worrying me as much as a company that gets away with tens or hundreds of millions of dollars in taxes a year. THAT'S why I don't get in a frenzy or a panic over the illegals like the site linked to does. One IS a lesser problem.

The main problem is the IRS is one of the most underfunded and underresourced "major" agencies the government has. It seems they don't go after illegals OR big company tax fraud with much effort or as often as they should because they typically don't have the time, money or manpower.

FYI. I worked for a General Contractor in NY that only hired Union Roofers. They made $40.00 per hour plus the $22/hr that the company contributed to the benefits package.

Not every company can hire even non union workers, much less illegals. Matter of fact, most big jobs, are required as per the contract to hire only union labor, or pay union labor salary to non union labor. Every six months, I had to perform verification that all our employees were legal citizens. Every payroll was sent in to the US Department of Labor. This was for contracts worth millions of dollars.

I think at $62/hr Roofers are doing ok for themselves. Don't you worry.

It makes sense they'd use planes to get 'em out, if that's what they truly want to do.

Who knows where these people are being picked up...potentially all over the country. Shipping someone all the way back to, say, Mexico from either of the coasts or further up north could take days, and you run a huge risk of escape. A plane ride is short, they can't get away, and it gets them out fast.

let me de-spell yet another half-truth

the overwhelming majority of aliens removed from the US are done so at the AIRLINE'S expense. (14 CFR 108)when they bring an alien in and it appears that alien is inadmissible, the responsible airline has to take them back. US pays nothing, not even the cost of feeding them while in US custody. The airlines pay that too. If an alien enters by sea, the ship that bought them in pays in much the same way.

Now, that's for aliens interdicted at the boarder, airports being considered a boarder, where most aliens are caught. simply because it's easier to do so at the boarder. not just because you(the CBP/ICE agent) and the alien are right there, but the law is more conducive to it. at the boarder, no trial. caught inside the US on the street as it were, then there has to be a trial. There are a variety of reasons for a trial, some are good for the US some for the alien. I'm not getting into that now. Anyway, if an illegal alien is deemed deportable by an immigration judge they have to be deported. How do you plan on doing this other than the US using a plane? the airlines are not responsible for these aliens. hell, try proving they came in on united 10 years ago! So we have to ship them back at our expense. we used to let them out and tell them to leave, in effect deporting themselves, but surprise, that didn't work. they didn't leave. so they ONLY way to ensure the alien leave is to shackle them, put them on a plane and bring them directly to they host country.

And let me say that this rarely happens (relative to the total number of deportations.)

and INS has been gone for three years now. catch up.

The berlin wall didn't work it was a series of walls that had nine layers to it, and it was still ineffectual.

The coyotes are tunneling under the current fence line. building a wall will just drive them to more extreme and most likely successful methods. they're better funded than us.

I'm by no means anti immigration, but when thousands of people are doing the hundred yard dash across our borders on a daily basis, committing crime, destroying our health care system, sucking welfare dry, etc., I say it's about time to do something about it. If they want to come here, fine. They just need to go about it the legal way.


Illegal immigrants are the least of our health care system's concern. Insurance fraud, overinflated costs, and "managed care" interested only in profit and not actual care are the problem. Our elected officials our swayed more towards legislation favoring the big lobbying efforts on behalf of insurer's, doctor's and hospitals than the actual care afforded to our citizens.

Illegal immigrants cannot collect welfare, and as a matter of fact, even legal immigrants not here more than at least 2 years minimum cannot collect welfare either. FYI in 1994, 50% of welfare recipients in the US were white, 32% black, and 18% other. Other means hispanic, asian & native american. In a country where whites make up most of the population, I'd say that's a pretty telling number.

The biggest problem with immigration is that people like you want to focus on the illegal immigrants that are no different than the immigrants from a century ago as a problem when in fact, all the terrorists that took part in 9-11 didn't make a mad dash across the border to get in. They got in legally because they had the money, resources and connections to do it.

But hey, if it makes you feel better to blame your problems on a sorry fuck that had the misfortune to buy into the American dream, please feel free to do so.

They were subject to health exams, criminal background checks, etc. when they got here. The illegal "immigrants" of today are subject to none of these things. Many are criminals. In some border states like Texas, New Mexico, etc. illegal aliens make up between 20-30% of the prison population. They've been known to spread various airborn diseases like TB and dengue fever.

I don't know where people get this notion that you can have a completely unrestricted population transfer and there will be ZERO negative effects.

The federal prison system handles the incarceration for people cought by the INS, so 25% of federal prisoners are illegals compared to 6.9% of all prisoners in the US. But the states you mentioned having 20-30% actually have less than 10% illegals.

Again, no. prior to 1924 there were no immigrant visas as we understand them today. and there was no sponsorship.
The Immigration Act of 1924 established immigrant visas and a quota. Sponsorship didn't start until 1944. And ofcourse, there is the "Cultural Diversity Visa" AKA Lottery visa that required no sponsorship.

But what makes that even worse is you're an arrogant prick about your political opinions; attacking anyone who doesn't accept your extreme opinions as gospel even though you haven't even made a credible case for them, and never have.

You're on the internet so you can google a fucking fact or two, and even if you can't if you had ever validated an argument you've made then maybe others would be more willing to accept your opinions at face value. I'm for immigration. I'm the child of an immigrant, but my mother, and her siblings that followed her had to wait YEARS before coming here. they applied through the proper channels. they waited their turn, and so should all.
our economy runs on disposable goods and disposable people. that sounds harsh, but it's true.

the real issue here is assimilation. but that's not the job of ICE or CBP. There is no agency charged with that task, and honestly, i'd be scared if one was.

What's the answer, I don't have one. It does trouble me at times.
