well, i'm a girl, so i'm not sure if my thoughts will pertain exactly to you. but this is what i think, anwyay..

to me, the whole losing your virginity thing isn't really as big of a deal as it's made out to be. i don't think that you need to wait until you find "the one." in fact, i think that's probably a mistake. i think it's probably a good idea to get some experience in before you meet that person because, once you meet them, you won't be able to anymore.

that said, i think it's a good idea to wait until you find "someone nice," as you say. losing your virginity is something you'll always remember, and you don't want to remember it being a terrible experience, or as having hated the person you did it with. at least wait until it's someone you like a lot, but it doenst have to be true love.

and just be responsible about it.
