My friends and I caught a 13ft. 268 lbs. thresher shark a few weeks ago about 50 miles of the Jersey Coast. What a rush. My new favorite toy is the "bang stick".

That is the stick with the shotgun slug on the end of it which was jabbed at the shark's head to blow a hole through its brain.

A surfer was bitten in half after losing a desperate fight for his life with two Great White sharks. A huge shark 'as wide as a car' lunged out of the water and snapped his board in half.

Mr Smith's friends could only watch in horror as he fell into the sea and another of the enormous creatures moved in on him.

The surfer lashed out with his fists to try to keep the sharks at bay as they came at him repeatedly. But after just 45 seconds he disappeared beneath the surface - and the water turned red.

Another surfer Cameron Rowe, 17, said: 'There was nothing we could do to help him. At first I saw one shark and thought it was one of the usual ones you see swimming-around,

'But these things were massive. When the first one came up a bit I could see its fin and it was almost a yard high.

Mojo I was about to rip into you and then i read the rest of your post. Gotta tell ya you almost had me.
The brother has the right frame of mind. The shark was not killing this guy for pure fun, he most likely thought he was a seal or a sea-lion, the preferred choice of food for sharks. Why go out and kill this shark when chances are they will not even kill the right one. In order to be totally convinced they would have to cut the stomach open. And by then it would be too late if they got the wrong one.
Leave them alone, shit happens.
Sharks are the most efficient hunters nature ever created. They have been around for over 100 million years. They have outlived the dinosaurs. It is not their fault we are in their enviorment.

Wow. Didn't realize this was in WA.

I visited Margaret River twice, and went swimming in Dunsborough, which is less than 100 km away from where this happened. Margaret River is a pretty nice surfing area, and also a up-and-coming wine area.

I think there had been a shark attack recently at Cottlesloe where I went swimming a lot, but I really didnt' think too much when I was in the Ocean.
