How long does it take water to freeze?

I have about six ice trays in my freezer that I filled at 8:15 pm. Do you think they are solid cubes yet or am I drinking warm liquor the rest of the night?

Reesh, the site sounded pretty good, until I read the conclusion:

I think the kid is even more confused now then ever before. I'm sure she understands the concept, but now no longer wants to have anything to do with water anymore.

Boon: I think by now that you have solid ice. Or at least close to it. It takes a good 3 to 4 hours for ice to freeze in a freezer if you used regular tap water; quicker if you used water that was already in the fridge.

I was fucking around...that's what ggogle gave me...I find that it takes about 3 hours in my freezer to make ice...I will never make another joke as long as I live...so help me God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HAHA Jon! But I just went and checked. I got some solid cubes on the left. Some semi-solid cubes in the middlr, and pretty much water on the right. Now, here is the burp in what everyone is going to think. The compressor and vent that lets the cold air into the freezer is over the watery cubes. And it blows directly down , too.

The reason that the cubes over the compressor aren't ice is like doing this...

Take your hand and blow air on it. The closer you get to your mouth, the warmer it gets.

The cubes that froze may have been in th back of the freezer while the ones who did not freeze may have been towrds the front. every time you open the door, it changes the temp drastically while the back of the freezer stays closer to the same temperature.

This is a question that can not be answered. We have no idea how cold it is in your freezer. Also, the purity of your water and atmospheric pressure also matter. As do the # of times you open the door, the starting temp of the water and what type of material the water is in and sitting on.

Did you ever taste one of the Diet Slurpees?
They don't have the same consistency, I'm guessing the sugar solution freezes at a lower temp than the sugar substitutes.

Oh my apologies. Ignore the stuff in the Slurpee; imagine a mix of crushed ice and water in a cup or glass or whatever.

It would be 32 degrees F still. The water and the ice would be at the same temperature, just in different physical phases.
