good question...can someone please explain to me the idea of that little weasel Bob Costas. I think he is the absolute worst! Always looking for the drama where none exists. It's so obvious he's trying to be Howard Cosell. He's everywhere and I don't get why. Is he that good? I don't think so. He just comes off as a pompous little jagoff. Anyone agree?

Madden is a jackass. Captain obvious. The guy has nothing to say and he's supposed to be an authority on football? the other jackass is Dierdorf and that clown on ESPN....I forget his name. He does the games with Theisman who I like.

I agree, Bob Costas is definitely overrated. His knowledge in sports is impressive, but it's useless due to the gay, twirpy ways in which he presents himself.

When it comes to football I have to say the best broadcasters/anyalysts are ex-quarterbacks. They are because as players they had to know both sides of the ball inside and out so it's only natural that they'd make the best color men for games. I like Simms, Theisman and Aikman as my favorite. They just know what they're talking about and can pick apart what's going on in an intelligent way. when I hear ex-lineman talk, they just sound retarded. And as a Cowboy fan, I'm glad to see Irvin doing well. Sorry, I know this will piss a lot of people off.

Kieth Jackson is the be all and end all of announcers. He flat out rules and anyone who thinks differently is wrong.
Another guy who I just started enjoying is that White Sox announcer. "You can PUT IT ON THE BOARD!!!"

Harry Kalas
Although for the mos tof my life the Phillies have been miserable Harry The K has been such a joy and I feel so privelidged to have him as our Broadcaster. There was nothing like Harry and Richie Ashburn doing the games and it made even the worst games very enjoyable. I will never forget the day that Richie died as I listened to the game he did against the mets and then the following day he was gone. It was just such a shock to this city down here. I call dibs now on doing the tribute thread on Harry Kalas when he dies. No matter when it is I want to do it. A bit tasteless perhaps, but I call it. And no I won't say hes Outta here. Ok, I'll just stop now.
Merrill Reese
Again, no one else would I want calling my Eagles games. Like Harry, the only voice I have ever known. I am so happy that this year, I will be able to drown out the FOX broadcasters and have Merrill Reese blasting through my speakers as I watch my Eagles games in HD! I CAN'T WAIT!!!
Gene Hart
The voice and the only voice of Flyers hockey. I grew up with this man speaking the soundtrack of my sporting youth much like Harry Kalas was for baseball. I still get chills when I hear his call of Game 7 int he 1987 Stanley Cup. Still, im my humble opinion the greatest hockey game ever played. We were that close. That close to beating that Juggernaut. I will also forever remember the Oilers game that was played the Thursday after Pelle Lindbergh died. Just hearing Gene's voice was such a comfort to me in my young age dealing with the loss of my hero. All I ever wanted to be when I was a kid was a goalie, just like Pelle. That's a whole other story there.
Other boradcasters of note:
Vin Scully
Saturday NBC Baseball when I was a kid, I always loved his voice and chemistry with Joe Garagiola.
Phil Rizzuto
We got WPIX down here when I was a kid and when the Phillies weren't on, I would watch Yankee games. I would always run around the house saying HOLY COW!
John Madden and Al Michaels
I love these guys and it make my Mondays during the fall and winter. They are just great together.
Mike 'Doc' Emerick
Man, when he and Bill Clement did Flyer games after Gene Hart retired that was just as good as Hart and Taylor. Not better but just as good. Then, Emrick and Clement go to ESPN and then of all places, Emrick to the Devils. Bastards!
I absolutely concur on Keith Jackson. I loved it when he did the USFL games. I still have a few on tape and watch them back to get his call.
