What's a good cheap easily accessible cigar that's good for a starter?

IkeaBoy - Don't even think about starting that shit. Cigars are addictive and deadly.

ok...a friend of mine smokes cigars and he wants to know the name of a good brand.

I've got a humidor full of some really nice ones. I quit cigarettes back in March, and I've been afraid to have a cigar since then, for fear that it'll get me back on the butts.
If you've got an addictive kind of personality, HK is right; stay the hell away from 'em! You'll begin planning entire evenings around where and when you can have yourself a nice stogie. And as a general rule, chicks aren't too fond of 'em, either.

You don't have to have an addictive personality to become addictive to nicotene.
Tell your "friend" that starting to smoke is one of the biggest mistakes he can possibly make.

Well, if you want a good Cigar, get your hands on a Cuban. They always win the best cigar of the month in the Cigar Afficinado magazine. (forgive the spelling)
But I like PUNCH cigars. They're resonable, and they're grown from a Cuban seed legaly in a country we don't have problems with. Just go to a Liquor store with a humidor display and ask for them, of to your local Tobbaco Store. Talk to the people in there. That's what I did. And if you're starting out, get small cigars. I also like the 10 pack tin of Macanudo's I sometimse get. They're about as big as a cigarette, but burn a lot longer.
And I've smoked Cigars for about 2 years now, and I don't find myself addicted at all. I get one every now and then, and have months where I don't get any because I might be broke. Just don't make it an everyday thing. I leave them in my car, and smoke them to chill out.

I'm not advocating smoking, but I gotta tell ya, if you are gonna smoke stogies, DO NOT leave them in your car. I have a very good friend who got a severe case of mouth rot for doing just this. The leaves that cigars are rolled in can foster and spawn many different types of bacteria, especially if they're kept in a dark, damp area like the glovebox of a car.

Im 14 , ikea boy, i love 'em , and they are not addicting.. cigarettes are though. I only smoke once every 3 months *if that*.
The BEST kind are the flavored type. Either the vanilla, vanilla/cherry, or the chocolate! :)

They are addictive. I am addicted! So let me say if you are going to get hooked I suggest:
Puros Indios
Arturo Fuentes
El Rey de Mundo
Punch

I found cigarettes much more addictive. All brands are good, Im not sure what the brand is , but i get a chocolate 3-pack for $19.99 and they rock.

Oooooo. Mouth rot, huh? Thanks for the heads up GVAC. I try to buy them and smoke them rather quickly. So I hope that the week they're in the glove compartment doesn't cause them to become Mouth Rotting Material.
And I'm NOT addicted! I smoked Backwoods everyday at work for about a month. There was this shitty deli in Manhattan across from my jobsite that sold the CHEAP! And I ALWAYS had the occasional GOOD cigar, like a PUNCH or Macanudo. But then I got poor, and didn't smoke them for about 6 months. Then, I got more financially stable, and tried one out again last week. I don't find that I have any type of problem.
SEE YUH!

Not to change the subject or kill the thread (which may just happen on both counts), has anyone seen that new (is it new?) anti-cigarette commercial? There's this chick at a party, and a guy offers her a cigarette, and she says no thanks...and then comments after that her parents would kill her if she did. But the thing is, she's drinking from a keg cup at the time, which basically says that hey, drinking while partying underage is okey, but smoking isn't...it's a mixed message, people!! A MIXED MESSAGE! Ack.

I Suggest: Partagas 1845, La Flor Dominicana, Punch Gran Cru, Arturo Fuente, and Excalibur.
A cigar doesn't have to be Cuban to be good. As a matter of fact over the years there has been a decline in the quality of Cubans.

before the WTC thing our country's big evil was the tobacco/cigarette company. People getting billions from the cigarette company because they got cancer *awful*.
