If you really want to see, check it here... (http://www.aetv.com/growingupgotti/)
I've seen the commercials for this about a thousand times in the last 2 weeks. But that's because I'm obsessed with crime shows and A&E has them on daily so I watch this channel a lot.
Anyway, the newest in reality TV is following John Gotti's daughter, Victoria around while she tries to control her fighting sons and manage to look as stupid as she can. Well, at least it seems that way from the commercials. One of them showed her telling her son "the maid just put a $1500 suit in the washing machine" and then attempting to tell the maid who obviously does not understand what she's saying.
I haven't decided if I want to watch this train wreck or not. How 'bout you?

I'll just watch to see when Jimmy Hoffa falls out of the attic.

[color=purple]Actually, Victoria is the daughter. And a pretty interesting person in her own right. I wonder how much keeping her kids from the family business had to do with this decision. I know she's a novelist and a camera hound, but I'm betting over-exposing her teenage sons - thus hurting (if not killing) any real chance of them following in thier grandfather's/uncle's business - played a part.
She's suppose to be shrewd like that.
I may check out the 1st ep, but doubt I'll get that into it. Although the good thing about A&E, Bravo, etc. is that if you forget to watch/tape something once, it's on about 400 more times.

If that's true - good for her.

It's hilarious that anyone would consider this as some grand strategy to keep her kids out of trouble. Victoria Gotti has lived her entire life financed by one or another criminal enterprise, from her famous father to her thug husband who used mob muscle to corner the scrap metal market in NY. This show; like her godawful books, columns, and television appearances, is merely another way to cash in on her family's criminal behavior. Great lesson for the kiddies.

just awful ... Hotti Gotti (http://www.hottigotti.com/index.jsp)
those kids remind me of every two-bit meathead jackass from south queens ...
i don't need to see a bunch of self-proclaimed "fashionistas" (metrosexual thugs) being glorified on TV ...
this is the only image of a gotti that should be seen on TV:

I love mob/Mafia-related shit, but this sounds like it has zero to do with either when you get down to it.
Pass.

I'll watch a documentary about John Gotti, but why the fuck do we have his piece of shit progeny spending all that blood money on television? Maybe we really have lost our values in this country. That's it, I'm joining the 700 Club. Who's with me, you godless sons-a-bitches??!!

I'm a bit late for this topic, but I'm new here so I hope you'll all excuse me. I just started browsing the net when I became sufficiently enraged after seeing the promos for "Growing Up Gotti." I watched the prosecutors in New York - Gilliani among them - put away those scumbags, and I've watched documentaries on Gotti and his Bulldog friend who gave him up to the Feds, and all kinds of other stuff. I can't put into words my utter disgust at the level of this and other shows like it. This babe - this nonentity - believes, like so many people of her ilk, that she can advertise to realize. Well, it ain't so. If Gotti's daughter were an honest person she would accept who she is, accept it and move away to some place like Alaska, or whatever - maybe another country - to get her head together. She wants to bring up those two thugs to be good citizens? Leave New Jersey and leave the tv show behind, leave all the publicity behind, turn inward and try to become a better person. That would be news. All she's doing here is proving what a jakass she really is. And I feel sorry for the presecutors who put Gotti and his cronies away, and now they (the mobsters) are writing their auto-biographies (like A Man of Honor), and Gotti's daughter is acting like she was some kind of Hollywood celebrity. Maybe she ought to tell us how her father murdered their next-door neighbor when that poor man had the misfortune of running down one of the Gotti boys (a previous offspring) - an accident that could have happened to anyone. The man was trying to get out of town when Gotti and his cronies got hold of him. Gotti enjoyed killing, and the word is he used a basebal bat, or a chisel, or electric drill - something pretty - on this poor guy. I guess Gotti's daughter (I don't remember her name because I don't give a damn), who is so into denial about her connection with the Mob, would find something to excuse her brutal father. After all, she says she's his greatest fan, yet at the same time she says she's sick of all the "bad" publicity about her being part of the Mob. Well, that's reality too, baby. Deal with it. Only not in front of us. We got our own problems.
Thank you.
Mike.
