I just got back from a 2 day trip to New jersey for my gramdmothers funeral. By brother and I decided to stay at a low price motel (Comfort Inn) in seperate rooms for the wake and funeral. Man, what a shit hole. First, the sheets smelled like someone wiped their ass on them, and the carpet had stains all over the place. It looked like the hotel was under construction, and the room smelled like at one time it was a smokers room and it was just aweful. At 2 am I call him up and he is telling me the same horrors of his room next door, and we decide to bale out of the shit hole and check into a Ramada down the road that was $40 more and what a difference! But first we both went to the clerk and told him that we are leaving because the rooms sucked and how we wouldnt ever come back with the filth etc. and he gave us the $$ back! As soon as we got into the new hotel I washed the stank off me from the other bed and cranked up the ac and got a few hours of sleep. Anyone else have hotel horror storys?

Sounds like the Madison Hotel in A.C. That place sucks. One time we stayed there water was leaking from the roof when it was raining hard (We got our room changed).

One of my former co-workers told me that her father tried to stay overnight at the South-of-the-Border hotel in the Carolinas and ended up sleeping in his car!

About 10 years, me and the family were going down to North Carolina on vacation..Our car broke down outside some little flee-ridden burg outside of Fredricsburg, VA...We hit the nearest motel we could find...it was run by some old Indian guy who speak english...I should have taken the hint but we were desperate, The bathroom had mold or something growning on the wall and the whole room felt damp with mildew...Around 4am my son woke up screaming and said that something was crawling on the floor..I turned the light on and there was a friggin' raccoon staring at me........We had a very early checkout...4:01 am!!!!!

Jeez reesh, I guess mine in comparison wasnt that bad. I had the choice of hotels in the area and selected one that turned out to be crappy.
