This is the best movie I've seen this year. Incredibly unique. Just when you thought everything's been done, here comes Garden State. This movie is a breath of fresh air. Very powerful, very funny when it wants to be, excellent acting. SEE IT.

It DOES have a good soundtrack.
FYI, the song used for the TV spots is "Let Go" by Frou Frou, off of their fantastic album "Details."

Saw it Saturday. Excellent film. I love how the film starts very slowly, and picks up as it goes, and the main character realizes the world around him without lithium.

I loved this movie the first time I saw it, though since having it on DVD I love it even more. The extra features and the even commentary are really great. I'm not a huge fan of commentarie as I find a lot of them boring, though this one (between Braff and Natalie Portman is great), its like listening to friends just sitting around talking about the movie. The deleted scenes on it are also some of the best I've seen on any dvd in a while. At least two of three of the scenes are deeply powerful. I understand why they were cut, though if a director's cut dvd comes out with these scenes in it, it would be great.

I also got the soundtrack and love it as well. It's just one of those rare movies that just spoke to me.

Plus it's nice to see Natalie Portman in a movie that really shows her range. I loved the idea of her in the Star Wars movies though I've always felt that George Lucas very poorly directed his actors. If he had put the same attention to his actors that he does the special effects the trilogy would have been amazing. Anyway, if you haven't seen this movie I highly recommend it. Plus it's like $10 in Target.

http://www2.foxsearchlight.com/gardenstate/

I'm fair. Both BG and GS are incredibly average and unremarkable films.

i thought it was really really boring. the only memorable part of the movie was when natalie portman was describing how her adopted brother was one of those kids on tv with flies flying around his head in africa. terrible movie. i don't get why so many people loved it so much.

I love the movie. I actually have it in my regular rotation over Goodfellas now. Some movies hit chords for people... this movie hit me more than any movie I have ever seen.

I respect Zach Braff because he lived my dream by writing, directing, and staring in a movie.
It's a good movie. I don't think it's as amazing I thought it was when I first saw it, but hey, for what it is it's good.

Of course, I saw Garden State during an awesome point in my life which no logner exsists. I may be simply associating that time with the movie and now that the awesoem time isn't there anymore I think less of the movie.
