I havent seen any commentary on here regarding the missing Utah woman Lori Hacking and her husbands very odd alibi, nor anything about the Scott Peterson case. But I read today that the guys family has told the cops to stop looking for her because of an "announcement"..

Nothing i read gave the impression that it was the husband's family that called off the search; they all said that it was a decision by, "the families," meaning both of them.

I could be mistaken, but I thought I had heard on the radio that the family/families had said a search was 'no longer necesary' which sounds vauge enough, but I thought that I'd heard that this Statement came as a surprise to the Police, which would come as a , er, ummm... surprise?
