June 30, 2003: Three blasts rock Fallujah. One at the Al-Hassan mosque kills a Muslim cleric and six theology students, injuring 15 others. U.S. Central Command reports that "something like an ammunition dump" exploded near the mosque.

August 29, 2003: An explosion at a Najaf Mosque kills about 95, including one of Iraq's most important Shiite leaders, Ayatollah Muhammad Baqr al-Hakim. Another 125 are wounded.

January 9, 2004: A rocket downs a U.S. medivac helicopter near Fallujah, killing nine. A bomb explodes outside a mosque in Baquba, killing at least 5.

April 7, 2004: Coalition troops clash with opposition fighters throughout central and southern Iraq, and as far north as Kirkuk. U.S. forces drop a 500-pound bomb on a mosque compound in Fallujah

May 25, 2004: For the second time in a month, the shrine of Imam Ali, one of the holiest sites for Shiite Muslims, is damaged when U.S. forces clash with militiamen loyal to al-Sadr in Najaf and Kufa. American commanders deny responsibility for damaging the shrine. At least 13 Iraqis die.

So it's taken over a year for "Islamic militants" to finally get around to killing Christians at their churches, while it's been open season on Islamic sites and worshipers since the beginning? What's your point?

Did I say it was OK? No. His point was that the bombing of Christians demonstrates that

these Islamic Militants DO NOT GIVE A FUCK WHO THEY KILL!!!!!
which should have been demonstrated by the the attacks on other Islamic worshippers, as well as aid workers, reconstruction workers, the UN HQ, and other civilian targets. In fact, it should belie the oversimplifaction of the categorization as the insurgency in Iraq as "Islamic militants". It's much more complex an enemy than that, and the fact that the 800,000 Iraqi Christians have been relatively safe through over a year of insurgent and counterinsurgent warfare should demonstrate that. However, it seems utterly pointless to suddenly start screeming "THEY'RE KILLING CHRISTIANS NOW!!!!!!!" as though all of a sudden the people that matter are suddenly in danger.

Whether the victims were Christian or Islamic or Shi'ite or whatever, I just deduced these terrorist assholes didn't care who they killed when they decided blowing up any of the Iraqis they're trying to "save" from us fit into their plan.

i would like to point out that this rouge nation of terrorists have used mosques as battle grounds/ weapons depots.

it's not like people are all up in arms that they are targeting "xtian" facilities, just that yet another un rule broken. yes we have attacked mosques, and it is difficult to know if it was justified. but i think this is another example of a bunch of shitheads exploiting to get their end - power.
