Charity Dodgeball Tournament Sunday September 19th

As most of you may know, I am doing the Avon walk for Breast Cancer October 2nd and 3rd, a 39.3 mile walk to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer concerns. I really need to raise a LOT of money (about $1400) by then, so I'd like to announce my first annual (hopefully) Dodgeball Tournament at Chelsea Piers on Sunday September 19th.

It's 16 teams, 5 people per team, best 2 out of 3 per match. The entry fee is $100 per team, that can be submitted as a tax deductible donation to my Avon Walk Fund (http://www.avonwalk.org/site/TR?pg=personal&fr_id=1043&px=1279097&s_tafId=1094&s_oo=_h9eXu597T-PLhYs3lnipg..) .

Then starting at 7, there will be an "awards ceremony"/After Party at Red Rock West (http://www.redrockwestsaloon.com/index.html) 2 blocks away, where a team of their bartenders (http://www.redrockwestsaloon.com/staff.html) have already signed up as a team for the tournament.

I thought about forcing the name "The Commie Symps" on the team but you can choose one amongst yourselves. I'm not buying you t-shirts though unless its funny (or if you happen to be nubile hotties).

First of all.....We were mentally prepared to play the Red Rock bartenders.....NOT the professional team that totally kicked our asses. My whole game plan was thrown off. I find it very interesting that your team played them. I call Shenanigans!!!!!!
Second of all....I didnt have the team I originally started with. Whole gameplans were thrown aside.
Thank god Silera was my replacement 5th player. She gave us credibility.

Sorry that you had to go through that tool, we did it for my father last year and it just seems so unreal.



Question...IF you don't reach the $1,800 to walk then what happens with the money? Do they keep it? And if so why wouldn't they let you participate?


The day before the walk, October 1st, if I don't have all of the money I can give my credit card and I would have 30 days to reach the $1800 minimum and they'll let me walk, but if I don't meet it in that time I have to pay the difference.

If the difference is too great for me to spot, then they keep the money, won't let me walk, and I get banned from participating next year.


By my math I just need another $270, so if people want to get toghether this weekend and help me collect some more money I'm all for it.

I don't know, the little one is a little hyper, but the older one looks like he has a strong back, I got $40 for them both.
