What are some good comedy CDs I should go pick up? I heard Adam Sandler's new CD is funny. Don't know if I'll pick it up though. I need a good chuckle.

Here's some that I own that I would recommend:

Mitch Hedberg - "Mitch Altogether"
Jim Norton - "Yellow Discipline"
Dane Cook - "Harmful If Swallowed"
Billy Staples - "Live From Redbank"

I forget what it's called, but Rich Vos had an album out that my brother bought in the Vintage Vinyl used bin for 2 bucks. It's really funny though.

Eddie Izzard has 4 cds out. They are brilliant. Ron has talked about him a few times before. "Dressed To Kill" and "Glorious" are the 2 I listen to alot.

Brian Regan Live is also pretty funny.

Patton Oswalt just put his first out a couple weeks ago, and it's stellar.

Joe Rogan is a hump on "Fear Factor," but his one comedy record is pretty ace.

Dave Attell''s got some good stuff.

Hicks is essential, though not really straight "comedy." When he rants, he REALLY rants, not pussy pseudo-political/intellectual bullshit like Dennis Miller or Bill Mahr.

Rhino Records put out a fantastic Pryor box set a few years back...start there. You'll get at least a week's worth of listening.

Dave Attell's album is called Skanks for the Memories.

It's got a great bit about one-legged men.

Also the who 'Thank you slow gas leak' part is great.

And the men's nippples routine--'something manly like parachute army men or motor oil or something' used to be my mod quote.

Dane Cook is the shiz. His last record was really strong (although, his special on Comedy Central was not all that great) I've seen him live and he KILLS.

His new record RETALIATION is doing very well. This was in Billboard:

Not since the classic Steve Martin album "A Wild and Crazy Guy" reached No. 2 in 1979 has The Billboard 200 seen a comedy disc break the top 5. That all changes this week as Dane Cook's "Retaliation" bows at No. 4 to become the highest-charting comedy effort in 26 years. The position and first week sales of 86,000 copies are especially impressive feats for Cook, whose first set, "Harmful if Swallowed," never made it to the big chart and sold just 3,000 copies in its debut week in 2003; it has moved 300,000 to date.

The David Cross CD's are quirky and great. So is the DVD that documents that tour.

Can't go wrong with the George Carlin "middle period" (after the drugs, before the political rantings)

and I also liked "I'm Telling You For The Last Time" by Jerry Seinfeld. It's all the good observational bits that you've come to know. Many of which appeared in the sitcom in one form or another.

Try to download some Mitch Hedberg and Gary Gulman stuff. All strong material.

Dane Cook is easily, in my opinion, the funniest comic out there today. However, with that said his new CD is average at best. The first CD absolutly kills, the new one not so much. If you're a Dane fan I suggest you pick it up just to give it a listen, other than that it has no real use except as a weed plate.

"Harmful If Swallowed" is one of the funniest comedy cd's I've ever heard, its an absolute must-get.

WATCHING Cook do his act annoys the piss out of me. The manic, double-jointed ape-man schtick is pretty tedious after about 3 minutes. But listening, I think he's hilarious. Love that first album...his bit about that feeling when you wake up late for work and can't do anything about it is one of the funniest, truest things I've ever heard a comic express.
