Yeah. Republicans have been very respectful and haven't brought this up yet. I was watching News 12 and the new guy was really pushing a Republican lobbyist to criticize McGreevey for avoiding a special election. But the guy refused to do so. And a Republican on Channel 7 did just about the same thing, saying today isn't the day to worry about those things. That's classy.

And as much as I'd love for the Governor's office to stay Democratic, I think the right thing to do is to have a special election. Unless Corzine decides to run, I don't like Democrats chances in a special election despite everything else. Republicans have three candidates with name recognition, and even though they all lost their races for Senate or Governor (Forrester, Schundler and Franks), they'd be going up against a no-name unless Corzine runs.

And man, if that idiot Forrester ends up Governor, I'm moving.

Governor will become Governor, keeping the office in Democrat hands till at least the election next year. If there was a special election this year there is a very good chance the Republicans would win.
