It may not be a lie but it is not true either.

Janet Hubert-Whitten had written in her biography that she was fired due to her pregnancy however, this is not true either. Will Smith and Whitten never got along (to put it lightly) and he basically had her thrown off the show once he finally had the "juice" to do so after the third season.

For the record, Janet Hubert-Whitten was indeed pregnant in the third season and it was also written into the show. How she doesn't realize that this fact contradicts her version of what happened is beyond me.
