And what you say about his company
Is what you say about society.
Catch the mist, catch the myth
Catch the mystery, catch the drift.
The world is, the world is,
Love and life are deep,
Maybe as his eyes are wide.
Today's just jon,
He gets high on you,
And the space he invades
He gets by on you.

Good thing Rush were in NJ at the time.
Amazing show. And it didn't really rain till the end of the show.

JustJon,
I'm 20 mins away and yer right, I was like, 'this rain is managable' and then around 11:30-ish the sky opened.
I'm hoping to score tix for the two dates at Radio City Music Hall, I saw them there late 80s and that was cool.
Non-Rush fans might remember [or not] Alex Lifeson's last altercation; that put hm in the news. And Neil Peart; sheesh the guy lost his Wife and a Daughter within the span of something like two years. Tragic, for arguably the most influential rock drummer ever.
And Geddy Lee is a SleeStak. So its a trilogy of tragedy.

I was already in my car and on the GSP by then. Show ended a lil after 11.
I'm hoping to score tix for the two dates at Radio City Music Hall, I saw them there late 80s and that was cool. The announced the Radio City dates after I had GSAC tix or I totally would have went to Radio City. It's an amazing place to see a show.
And Neil Peart; sheesh the guy lost his Wife and a Daughter within the span of something like two years. Tragic, for arguably the most influential rock drummer ever. More like less than a year. His daughter died in a car acciendent, then his wife died of cancer months later.

The show was INCREDIBLE, as always.
They really mixed up the set, added new videos and animations.
Luckily we had seats, so we didn't get wet until we left.
The show was 3 hours and it flew by.
The coolest part was when they did an acoustic version of the Yardbirds "Heart Full Of Soul" (From their new "Feedback" CD), when the crowd did the "woo woo woo woooo" in the verses!
Also the opening video with Jerry Stiller and the second set video with a puppet dragon and RUSH bobblehead dolls doing battle were hysterical!
And yes, Alex, Geddy, and Neil STILL got it!!
I'm also lucky enough to be going to the Radio City show on Wed for my B-Day !!!

I second that, incredible show.
It was great to here songs like "Xanadu", which I never saw them play live before.

Friend sent me the set list of the show before PNC. Yeah Between The Wheels? Grace Under Pressure is one of those Rush albums, Red Sector A is cool, I've seen them do Distant Early Warning. I would have dug on Red Lenses or Afterimage.
And they're doing Red Barchetta? Best song on Moving Pictures; cept maybe Camera Eye. Now they GOTTA play that in NYCity.

I have GOT to get tix for the RCMH shows. Seeing a concert there is so sweet.

ok things in the thread were going real good for us Rush-Fans, who falls close to the Rush-Nerd category, like me, until peeps start correcting each other on the name of a Drum Solo!
making us look bad!

seriously, I never really dug the Peart solo, I guess coz his playing is complex enough as it is; I like to hear it with a song behind it; he triggers some song type effects, and I know its a break for Geddy and Alex, but my philosophy has always been for extended solos of any instrument, unless you can carry a five minute solo, throw in a rare song that surprises the crowd.
Anywho...
Who's going to Radio City Music Hall? I saw them there in, was it 1982? It was pretty soon after they started actually allowing acts like that to play the place. I was in like the 3rd balcony, actually have a couple of pics, but theyre long distance.
They have the washing machines this tour? I saw them late last year at Meadowlands, and the spin cycles were On.

The drum solo is a song. The song has a title.
Andyes, the driers were on again. Plus a food vending machine.

Now that you mention Neil Peart, he (IS) the best. Although people call him a drummer, he is not. He is a Percussionist. Probably one of the most difficult musicians to duplicate. Don`t believe me? Check your Rolling Stone archives.

Whenever I see them, at least the last time, I had to keep reminding myself, 'ya know there's two other musicians onstage', but watching Peart is just, I don't know, the man was amazing early on, but has just gotten levels and levels of different techniques now, and his grooves are just as amazing as his fills.
Ever see the Instructional Video he put out around the Test For Echo CD? Sadly, he doesnt show older stuff in depth, he goes into each TforE song, but watching him do each track, with the music, and then just doing the backing track? Holy shit fucking amazing; especially the title track.
And ya gotta love that fucking drum set; what a monster, oh those poor drum techs.

You know what I cant disagree; coz the best drummers I know play like a 3 or 4 piece set and can do just about anything.
Just so ya know thats two drums set back to back, if he swings around 180, thats another kick; its sorta an 'acoustic' side and an 'electric' side and oh dear the Rush-Nerd in me is LOOOOOOSE ! !
