Although a good movie...its based on actual events. It features time travel , alien materials and people melding into objects.

What are your thoughts if you heard of this?

An adventure beyond time. The experiment that should never have happened 50 years ago is still going on.
Based on an actual event that took place in 1943, about a naval battleship that disappeared from Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, and sent two men 40 years into the future in 1984.

The ship became invisible for a couple of minutes. When it reappeared, anyone on the ship become melded into the ship.

Supposedly, in 1943 a Navy destroyer, the USS Eldridge, was made invisible and teleported from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Norfolk, Virginia.

According to legend, the crew of the civilian merchant ship SS Andrew Furuseth, observed the arrival of the Eldridge into the Norfolk area via teleportation. Sounds great, but the log of the Andrew Furuseth shows that the ship wasn't even in Norfolk at the time the Eldritch was supposed to have teleported in!

The Navy completely denies this occurred. There is no record of an attempt or even record of interest in such an experiment. Moreover, operational records (logs) of the ship show that the Eldridge was never even in Philadelphia.

The Office of Naval Research and other respected scientists have shown that the concept of "invisibility" does not conform to known physical laws. Even "degaussing" technology used by the navy to render a ship invisible to the sensors of magnetic mines, leaves the ship visible to the eye, radar, and underwater listening devices.
