God, how the rest of the world hates us. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Wait, how is that a "toy?"
What does it DO? How does one play with it?
So not only is it absolutely despicable, it's a shitty toy to boot. Absolutely evil.

But most kids are innocent and don't really see it like a political motive. Mind you, the older kids might realize it and see its wrong, but the little ones don't and they're just in it for the candy.

So? Kids are being given toys and exposed to things that their parents would most likely not want. Would you think it was right to give a kid a toy swastika in a box of Cracker Jacks, regardless of whether they understood its meaning?

No, I agree you with you. I think its wrong for any child to be exposed to the horrors adults cause. But this toy is just one example of how some things get full attention, and others don't. How come nobody says nothing about little girls being able to see Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera dressed in provacative clothing? They will eventually want to be them and then we have confused teenagers...
Yes, the toy is horrible and I am in no way supporting it but other things need attention also..
I agree its wrong and never should of happened.

Holy Apples & Oranges, Batman!!!
I guess pop icons dressing provacatively is worthy of just as much attention as toys mocking the greatest tragedy in our country's history.
PS - That was sarcasm, stupid.

Ten - twenty years from now the way the world (including America) looks back at "9/11" is going to be very, very different - specifically because of the way it will be filtered through the eyes of people too young at the time to really remember it.
Children 8 and younger in 2001 will have grown up in a world where all they have known is a post "9/11" world. As such, when this group of snotty brats hit teen years, there will be rejections of everything their family holds sacred and precious, including 9/11.
Already, many children make uncomfortable "two/twin towers" jokes around each other. Maybe not kids in NY (and maybe NY is the one caviat), but slooooooowly the kind of cynical 'tude we see in the "Shits from Hell" site.
And because the world these days revolves around the 16-25 year olds - music, radio, television, movies, media, public discourse - I am just concerned that the "9/11" attacks will become SNL punchlines within the next fifteen years, because marketers have deemed that it is considered "edgy and stuff" to reach a core audience disconnected from the tragedy.
Where they hell have we gone wrong in teaching altruism and empathy to children???
