if I was born in Guam???
Do I go to my local courthouse to get a copy of my birth certificate? If not where?
The reason I'm asking is I need it to get my Driver's License updated w/ a photo and with all the new paperwork needed the process is a hassle without my certificate (it's worth 4 points I think) in the state of NJ.
I've been using my non-photo driver's liscense plus my expired photo driver's liscense (for ID's) but you can only stretch the envolope so far before they want a current valid photo ID.
Thanks for any info.

hey what/where is that point system I gotta get my license re-newed and I have my original BC, so with that what else do I need? Can you barter points? Like 'how about this Ron and Fez Card, can that count as like 1/10 of a point?'
Guam? One of your parents in service? Or just from Guam?

I was only there for six months. My dad was working at the power plant there at the time. Haven't stepped foot on my homeland since then.

Different ID's have different points. I think Passports & old picture licenses count the most.
Proof of Age and Identity for Registration and Titles
To be valid, all proofs (e.g., birth certificate, marriage certificate) that you present must be the original or a certified copy and have the required state or municipal seal. No photo copies or fax copies.
The following are accepted as proof of age and identity:
Original civil birth certificate or foreign birth certificate with U.S. Consulate Seal for U.S. citizen born out of the country
Certified copy of birth certificate (with state or municipal seal);
United States passport (even if expired)
Foreign passport with current, acceptable I-94 form (document issued by immigration authorities indicating alien's legal status in this country)*
Alien registration card (green card)*
Citizenship papers
Military I.D. card (active duty only -- no dependent cards)
Adoption papers**
Certified military discharge papers (DD-214)
Legal name change papers**
Certified marriage certificate or divorce degree (for name change only)**
United States Naturalization Certificate
Valid work authorization card, combined with a Social Security card
Any other document issued by the United States which establishes that the applicant's presence in the United States is authorized under federal law*
*If you are not a U.S. citizen, you must show formal proof that the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS), formerly know as Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS) is aware of your presence in this country, and that you are in a status that permits licensing.
**If your surname is different from the one on your primary proof of age and identity, MVC cannot complete the transaction until you document the name change with certified adoption, marriage, or divorce papers, or a name change court order. Name changes through divorce must be part of the divorce decree and/or contain an addendum signed by the hearing judge.

It's sad that you can't easily prove that you were born.

It's even harder to prove that you're dead.

Stupid ass DMV people.
So I went to the DMV (or whatever the fuck they call it now) to update my Driver's License.
Had all the documents I needed. Birth certificate, old driver's license, Soc. Sec. card, address, and ATM card.
And they ask me for proof of my citizenship (do you have a green card or something that states your a citizen?)!! WTF!!!! Guam is a U.S. territory and people born there are U.S. citizens. It's not my fault you never heard of Guam before. If I said I was born in Puerto Rico, I betcha I have my updated ID now. Ugh!!!
I'm a person with out a country just like the dude in the movie "the Terminal". :(

I think McGreevy changed it to the MVC (Motor Vehicle Commission). Apparently every time someone complained about the DMV, and in Jersey there's plenty to complain about, he would start daydreaming the second he heard "D" and nothing was getting done.
