"Without A Paddle" is a throwaway comedy about 3 thirty yr old guys that go on a canoe trip in Oregon. 'Deliverance' meets 'Stand by Me' and 'Tommy Boy' thrown in. Steven Brill (Little Nicky, Mr. Deeds) adds nothing new in this dumbdown rehash but it does deliver 2 good laughs. Tom, Jerry, and Dan (Dax Shepard, Matt Lillard, Seth Green) hook up after the death of their 4th buddy Billy died. They find a map of the moneytrail of the great robbery legend DB Cooper in the northwest woods. A trip downstream is hectic and lost but it is so familiar to any one with a small imagination.



A Bear, Rednecks, Bad Sheriff, Waterfall, Rain, Mountain Man....5 writers? The cast is good, Seth Green made me laugh. Dax Shepard is the Punk'd guy on MTV and he is goofy but Matt Lillard is wasted in the straight role. Abe Benrubi and Ethan Suplee are funny pot farmers, and Burt Reynolds picks up a paycheck but is just silly. The scene with the tree hugger chicks is really funny and the best laugh is a gay huddle to keep warm. Teen target for a few funny moments is a straight to Comedy Central filler. On the same level as 'Black Sheep" without Farley.

I fucking hate it when people laugh at the one joke that is on TV every 60 seconds. Do they laugh like that every time the commercial aired before they walked into whatever dumb comedy is new in theaters that week?

I just saw Hero. Excellent film. Ziyi Zhang is so beautiful! I guess I should post this in the Hero thread.
