I am 100% sure I've heard Fez's numbers=colors segment at least 3 times before tonight.
Haven't Ron and Fez done 1000's of shows? why repeat the repeats? repeat something that only played once.

Unfortunately, not everything gets saved specifically for best of. There is a bank of stuff that gets designated for later use, and sometimes that stuff gets over-used -- like the synesthesia bit

I remember WNEW displaying the same lack of effort concerning "Best Of's" as well. I think the only and best time for Ron & Fez "Best Of's" was after their Christmas break in 2002 where they played an array of shows from different periods. That was done after several complaints about replayed "Best Of's" from a few callers on that last show in 2002. Ron instructed the staff to play old "Best Of's" on air as he did last Thursday so I think we'll be in for some good radio this coming week

The best ofs for this week were already set up by Monday of last week.

Didn't they lose a lot of their shows during the move from NYC to D.C.? I could have sworn this came up on the air around that time?
Maybe the boys should be like Frasier and have a closet full of their shows in chronological order.
Ron: Are they lifeguards or lifepussies?!?!

1 - Because of ever shifting organic nature of FCC rules, not everything from the old days can be rerun;
2 - THEY have done the Fez color thing more than once themselves, without even the benefit of Best Of - topics they like they come back to;
3 - R&F indicated last Friday that some of the older stuff was going to be rerun, meaning stuff that has been rerun already was more than likely a lock;
4 - There are two new markets that haven't heard it at all;
5 - Finally, R&F made it sound like it was supposed to be a treat for the fans of the WNEW days. They are actually lucky they can play that stuff; imagine how great it would be to hear best ofs from their early days in Florida?!
If this is not the case, and people would rather throw out the WNEW stuff because they have been rerun too many times already, then don't be surprised that they decide to keep "best ofs" to recent WJFK shows.
I enjoy the best ofs, but I also like the idea that Ron had of giving other shows their time slow and switching things up a bit during their vacations - like The Hideout. Save Best Ofs for the holidays when no one else can fill in.
It would free them up to talking about the same topics more than once.

Last night they played stuff from the very last time they went on vacation (The Hideout remote recap/Crazy Jen "Jersey Style" bit" I think it ran in "best of" on Jul 05)
Thank god for the SU I can run my own Best of.

Man, Curtoid's right about the old shows potentially being butchered by the new FCC "rules." I was listening to the Al Dukes retrospective, and there were drops and cuts all over the place, so the effect of the new decency overlords really can't be underestimated.
