I almost posted this in the games & sports section because the problem relates to fantasy football drafts. I've already missed two live drafts because I can't seem to get Java Virtual Machine to work on my pc...at least not consistently.

I have a Dell with Windows Me, and the Java software worked at the beginning of the baseball season for multiple Yahoo draft in fantasy baseball. But twice now I've sat down at a football draft & spent the next hour+ banging my head on my desk because I couldn't get it to work.

Has anyone else had this problem? I've tried uninstalling Java completely & reinstalling via the link provided when you "test your system" on the Yahoo league pages, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions would be appreciated...I have one more draft this weekend & it's in a money league run through Yahoo.

Thanks.

sorry i can't help, but this is why i always try to do offline drafts. almost everytime i have been in a yahoo draft someone(usually multiple people) has a problem with the draft windows and misses at least a few picks.

don't they have another alternative though to the java option. i haven't done one in a while, but i kind of remember there being 2 options. good luck.

Well Windows ME has been rated as one of the worst versions of Windows of all time.

I'd start with that.

Oh, and get Mozilla, reinstall Java and see what happens.

Mozilla (http://www.mozilla.com)

Java (http://www.java.com)

this may be a longshot but different applications work with different versions of Java... you can see what version you're running in your IE / Tools / Internet Options / Advanced... you may need a different version? i think you can download a different version off of places like download.com and select it in the Advanced window. After selecting you may have to reboot...

maybe someone can add to what i just wrote

You are wrong sir, ME was not "one of the worst" versions of windows, it is hands down THE worst version. Get XP now!

Oh, and java is a very touchy program. But I have never missed a draft because of it. Get XP, then download the latest version of java. I know reformating is a bitch, but you have to get rid of ME, not just for fantasy sports, but for your sanity.

I shucked it, and I shucked it, and I shucked it, i'm quite the mother shucker
