There is a scene in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" where Donald & Daffy duck are arguing while they are playing two pianos.
Donald Duck CLEARLY says " you stupid Nigger" to Daffy.
I cant believe nobody caught it and complained.

I can't tell if he's saying "STUPID Nigger" or "STUBBORN nigger".
Snopes is definitely wrong on this one.

Yeah, that's it. All the people and millions of dollars and various treasured animated creations involved in this movie, and nobody thought it would be a big deal if Donald Duck, beloved by millions, lets loose with a racial slur. It couldn't possibly be that the script (At least according to close-captions) says he says "doggone stubborn little..." he SAYS "doggone stubborn little...," but, wow, shock and surprise, you have trouble understanding Donald Duck. That's only been his schtick for, what, 70 years now? He actually doesn't use ANY insult at all, racial or otherwise...just says "doggone stubborn little..." and starts squawking. That was always kind of his unofficial catchphrase when he'd go into a rage in his old cartoons. My brother is convinced he was saying "doggone stubborn bastard" in those old shorts...but that's just what he thinks. Doesn't make it reality.

A movie like that required God-knows how many recording and editing sessions, and you REALLY think all those people just "missed" him saying something like that? Or they all collectively chose to leave it in? Not to mention you had a variety of studios who had to sign off on this film since you had licensing rights all over the place.

Use your heads.

Like it was said in the 9/11 conspiracy thread, just because somebody THINKS they hear something, does not make it so.

If you're TRYING to hear him swear, that's what you're going to hear, if that's what you WANT to believe. But the simple fact is that's not what he said.

The artists who make these movies do this stuff on purpose. They try to sneak stuff in under-the-radar all the time.
There was a HUGE flare-up at Disney when it was discovered that the backround artists actually drew penis shapes as the coral and underwater rock formations in THE LITTLE MERMAID. Parents noticed it when it came to video.
There was a scene in Roger Rabbit where the little animated baby walks under a (human) womans dress and looks up, points a finger, and smiles. It also got alot of heat. I remember hearing on ET or Access Hollywood that some parents were petitioning to have that scene edited.

The word immediately AFTER "stubborn" is soooo clearly a two syllable word starting with "N" and has a hard "G" sound in the middle.

Finally....Closed Captions are always different from the finished dialog. The captions are transcribed from the shooting-script/screen play and NOT from the actual spoken dialog.

Yes, those are gags snuck in to the finished ART by some background animator. That's a far cry from a major cartoon character beloved by billions for close to a century having a big scene in the biggest movie of the year. Think about it...you REALLY think the guy doing the voice snuck that in...and then NOBODY ever listened to it again until they synched it up with the animtion and the film? Come on now...if YOU can "hear it," how did dozens, probably hundreds, of people NOT hear it from the time it was recorded until the time the film was released? Or was there a massive plot to get Donald Duck on screen saying "ni**er?"

Watch those old cartoons. Donald did that little tantrum all the time. It's roughly "doggone stubborn little *SQUAWKING*." The difference is for the movie you got a voice actor who can't do it as well as the "classic" voice and he's overly phlegm-y. Try doing Donald's voice yourself. I can only come close if I push up what feels like a quart of lung goo. And the "L's" start sounding like "N's." So in the film, you're basically hearing "nittle."

Fair enough Mo.
I'll meet you halfway and say this...
YES, It is pretty hard to understand just about everything that character has ever uttered but, let's also remember that there are THOUSANDS of people who seem to think that he IS saying Ni**er. So many people in fact, that it's had to be "dis-proven" by various websites...none of which are designed by the official movie studio.

We'll never know for certain but, I think that clip definitely deserves to get "DeFranco'd"

Hey, it definitely sounds like it COULD be that. I know after hearing someone say that's what he said, that's all I could "hear" him saying when I watched the movie.

I listened to it and could clearly hear the "g" like fezident said.

Sometimes in order to see something it has to be pointed out to you. Just because it had to be pointed out to you don't mean it ain't valid.

donald duck, you get this: "White people are so scared of...NIGGERS!!!!"

I mean..."black people."

...means ANYTHING?

So ALL of the people involved in this movie somehow DIDN'T hear that slur from the time it was recorded until it hit the screen...but because YOU think you heard it, that defies ALL of that logic?

Unbelievable.

We're doomed as a species.

OVER A CARTOON.

And sometimes you only hear something because it's been suggested to you what it's supposed to sound like.

Along the same lines Dan Patrick admits to slurring the phrase "bulging disc" when doing a morning broadcast the night after drinking heavily. It came out "And Natron Means will miss next week's game with a bulging dick"
