Chiefs fan...hopefully Gunther can bring the defense back to being halfway decent. the offense is still going to be very good, but WR position is banged up and the team is getting older, so this is the year it has to come together. i do like some of our younger receivers, but i think they may overplay Dante Hall a bit much this year on offense and hurt him on special teams as an effect.

Patriots will have the biggest drop off in wins and talent this year, mark my words...Corey Dillon was a good addition but they still dont have a passing game. Dont care how many rings Tom brady has, he just isnt a good QB...good leader? absolutely, but not QB...and besides, the Bill Belichick Patrioits are a team built mainly around defense, and that defense, especially the rush defense, has dropped off this year...I bet they go 9-7 this year...MARK MY WORDS! MARK 'EM!

You mean the same Chargers with THE worst defense in the league? You mean the same Chargers who wouldnt put out the money for "their" first rounder, thus causing him to miss all of training camp? And by the way, I guarantee you that Marty Schottenheimer will wind up throwing Rivers into the fire before he's ready. And whether its Brees, Rivers, or Flutie throwing the ball, they still have no one to throw to. Parker? Caldwell? Cmon! And I look forward to the Jets kickin their ass week 2...

Are you guys watching the Bronco/Chief game?
The refs fucked up the spot of the ball on the last play of the half, so after everyone went to the locker room, and the fucking band was on the field, they had to re-kick the field goal attempt.

This is one of the funniest things I've seen. I lost it when Theismann said they should give the refs some crayons to help them figure it all out.

Do any of you get the NFL network. They have a show on Sundays called Red Zone. It has all of the scores on one side of the screens and all of the players stats on the other side. No more waiting for the ESPN ticker to go through a million college games to see the scores or stats.

Plummer at least helped us make it a good game for a while. i have know idea why the Chiefs don't go after McCardell. the team is getting old and they need a WR so bad. Johnie Morton sucks...i wish he would have stayed hurt. hopefully playing in KC gets them more pumped up to stop the Panthers running game or it can be a long day Sunday.

Haha. Ravens got pwned last night.
I love it especially after they spend like an hour jizing all over Ray Lewis, and then the Chiefs got a o-lineman on him, or double-teamed him. They had him mic'd up and he was like 'they're doublin me.'
One the last KC scoring drive Priest got to the corner and just blew by him, making him look old and slow. I love the fact they just ran right at the Ravens defense and it worked.
On a side note, how good does this mean the Texans are?

nice to see my team finally get a win last night. to bad they still play Ind, NE, Ten, Atlanta and Denver again. Oh, they also get the Jaguars and Saints on the road where each play much better.
they dominated that game last night. the score shouldn't have been that close. they had the ball for around 40 minutes.
it also doesn't mean anything about the Texans. they aren't bad, but they also aren't good. If you saw last weeks game, the Chiefs really kicked their ass. It was 2 bad decisions by Vermeil and a terrible pass by Green on a first and goal at the one. give it to Priest...instead they throw what was supposed to be a fade pass to Gonzalez and its intercepted and returned 100 yards for a TD. if they scored there the game was over.

1. My Steelers looked pretty good today. They were supposed to beat the Browns and they did. Rothlisberger is looking good for a rookie.
2. The next three games absolutly suck for the Steelers. At Dallas, then home against New England and Philly. I'll be happy with one win and I think it has to come against Dallas so next week is big.
3. I'm watching Sunday Night Football right now and every week I hate Paul McGuire even more. He is the worst announcer. Jesus, he sounds like he wants to suck Deion's cock.

In a classy move (http://www.seahawks.com/ardisplay.aspx?ID=4692), unlike the way Rice demanded to get out of Oakland, Steve Largent has allowed his #80 to be "unretired" for Rice to wear. In an unclassy move, Rice actually called Largent to ask him to do so. What a dick.

good call Crip! Rice's huge ego and his 'mediocre at best' performance over the past several years is starting to overshadow all of his prior accomplishments. Catching a touchdown must be like a shot of heroin for him and he just can't quit. He needs to go into rehab or in this case retirement.
Largent should have told him no!

True, but a politician (which Largent presently is) can never say no to free publicity. And, technically, this move didn't cost him anything. And it makes him look like even more of a nice guy than the world already knew he was.
It's one thing to smile & say you're happy for someone when he breaks your NFL record, but to give that same guy your retired number a few years later...now that's a decent, humble thing to do for a fellow athlete. I'm almost pissed that he's being so nice. If Joe Montana couldn't wear #16 in Kansas City, Jerry should have to suck it up & wear something else in Seattle. Fuck Jerry Rice & Fuck Len Dawson!

Too bad the Steelers get the Pats & Eagles on back-to-back weeks. You almost have to expect there to be a let down. The Steelers, as good as they have looked at times this year, aren't consistent enough to make me believe they can knock off both of the remaining undefeated teams in two consecutive weeks.
However, with the Eagles so thin at RB, plus Deuce so motivated to stick it to his old team, Pittsburgh should technically have a better chance against the Eagles. You just know something will happen, though, and Pitt will lose. I'll still have my fingers crossed for them. Not because I'm a bandwagon Steelers fan (I actually root for the Giants & Bears), but because I really like Big Ben, Burress, and Ward and always like seeing pain come to Philadelphia sports fans.

It's so fun to watch Bledsoe fail, he's really just an awful QB. The man throws way too many INTs. It's great because at the start of every season the media strokes this guy's cock like nobody's business. And Drew is all, "I'm ready for a great season, this is our year in Buffalo, I'm the savior....blah blah blah" Last night all the pre-game hype was how Bledsoe never felt so confident going into a game and how he was sure they were going to take down the Pats. Bledsoe stinks and he should be banished into NFL obscurity.

It was 21-3 at the end of the first quater. Does Dillon play defense? I think Ty Law getting hurt was worse then not having Dillon.

That game wasn't just a lack of defense from the Pats. But the Steelers benefitted from the Pats not having Dillon, Law, and Branch. They were relying completely on the pass. Had they had a running game to support the pass, they'd have had better ball control, and Pittsburgh would not have racked up those 21 points. If NE and Pittsburgh meet in the postseason with healthy teams, NE would win.

I don't diagree with you about the postseason. But the game they played this season NE went up 3-0. Steelers eventually came back and scored a TD (I think this is when Law got hurt). Then the Steelers came back and scored another TD. And the third was an interception returned for a TD. And that is when NE started to rely on the pass. After that, when is the NE running game going to come into play anyway.

I call Shenanigans on that statement. Do you accept this decree of Shenanigans?
Dillon is a premiere back, no doubt about it, but the Steelers have faced him many many times and shut him down many many times. Also, Dick Lebeau, Dillon's former HC is the Steelers Defensive Coordinator.
Besides, they stopped running the ball because they went down early. Ty Law and Deion Branch hurt them more than the loss of Dillon. I mean, the Pats won 2 Super Bowls with JR Redman and Kevin Faulk.

You're forgetting Antoine Smith. He helped with those couple Super Bowls, too. But regardless, a lot went into that loss against Pittsburgh. Mostly it was the late injuries, not just Dillon. But also you can't compare how well the Steelers did against Dillon when he was with Cincinatti because they had no offensive line. With the Pats, he's finally with a strong team that can make the holes for him and have such a strong passing game they they don't have to constantly rely on him. So having him in a game is valuable. Had they been able to run him more, Brady may not have thrown that interception. Regardless, the point is moot. The two teams will probably meet in the post season, and in all likelyhood, they should be healthy, and in such case, I believe the Pats have the advantage.

The Chargers are going to have a ton of cap space, because they really only have 2 big contracts--Tomlinson and Rivers. They've gotten rid of Boston and Wiley and have more than enough room to resign Brees. They would be smart to Franchise him and then use that to shop him around the league. By doing this, the Chargers would be guaranteed a 1st round pick, and trust me there are teams that would be willing. Namely San Fran and Miami. If this happens, expect San Diego to be really fucking good in a few years. They got an assload of picks from the Giants last year and a 1st round compensation pick from a crappy team, they could draft half a fucking team in the next two years.
Once Rivers gets past the bumps that are expected with a young, overhyped QB, you arte going to find a lot of people are suddenly Chargers fans.

I call bullshit on that one. They have been playing absolutely incredible defenses the last few weeks. They benefitted greatly from the injuries to beat NE and they have been playing strong defensive teams ever since. Last week, Washington had the #2 D, Jacksonville's D is the only reason they have any wins, the Eagles have a great D.
I dont see it as slipping, the way I see it, they're winning close games. That being said, they will most likely end the season with 2 or 3 losses, but thye have the ability to beat anyone.

Damn, as of the week 13 rankings, every team the Steelers play from now on have a top ten defense, Jets (6) Giants (10) Ravens (8) and Bills (4). The last 6 games for the Steelers are going to be or have been brutal. Gonna be interesting though The Pats last 4 games are against the Dolphins, Bengals, Jets and 49ers. How does a defending Super Bowl champ get a schedule like that? Realistically, the Jets are the only team with a legitimate shot at beating them and the Steelers conceivably lose any of their last 4 games.
I love football.

Hey, the AFC East pretty much plays the same teams, we're just lucky it's ending like this. Good thing we played and beat the Colts in week one, with all the Pats DB injuries they'd get lit up right now by Manning.

I think the Pats could easily go 15-1. But my Steelers have to keep pace to keep home field. They caught a huge break in that John Abraham wont play this week, but they have still have quite a challenge. Now I do realize that the Giants are a bad team and that their defense isnt all that good. They are going to get run all over--3 of their 4 D-linemen are injured.
It just makes this stretch very nervewracking to have to face these teams when the Pats have a relatively easy stretch.
But like I said, its gonna be real fun, this next month.

I thought today was kind of a boring day in the NFL, that's a tribute to the horrible programing in the Miami area. I had such shitty games to watch, not to mention I'm always stuck with a Dolphins game. Here's one thing I think I picked up today with substansial certainty, while the Chargers are good, there aren't that good. They're merely a facade waiting to be exposed.
Outside of that, nice win for my Pats today. We lock up the AFC East, now we just need the Steelers to drop one soon (which they will, just wait, they are a very good ball club but can be beaten) so we can take home field throughout the playoffs. That is always the biggest factor for us, we need to play at home during the later rounds of the playoffs.
EDIT* Fallon, does anybody have an idea when we're getting Ty Law back, that would make me much more comfortable come playoff time?

Dec 9 Law, who had the cast removed from his injured foot early last week, was without his walking boot Thursday and said he has "graduated" from the exercise bike portion of his rehabilitation, the Patriots official site reports.
Recommendation: Law hopes to return before the end of the regular season, but there is still no precise timetable for his return. -Yahoo!

Yeah....but he is good though....
As far as Pennington goes, the little parades that New York threw him everytime he won a game are over. And have been over. This is a guy whos the #1 QB for this team for 3 years now. But because of the way the offense is run, not because of injuries, he is still unproven. All he has going for him in the stats are the completion percentage and the QB rating. With the bullshit 4 yard passes he throws for the majority of the game, lets face it, youre gonna complete most of those. Plus the fact that he throws less than just about every other QB in the league because they run the ball WAY TOO DAMN MUCH. Id really love to see how this guy would be able to play if he had an offensive coordinator that calls for a pass play on 3rd and 12...

I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about.

And what's even more fucked up is that he was probably hoping Atlanta would make the 2pt. conversion so he could get his precious 2 yards. They kept the sideline camera on him for that very reason. It was very strange. Oh and while we're on the subject:
Trent Dilfer 1 RING going for 2
Dan Marino 0 RINGS and one less record. HAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHA AHAHHAHAHAAHHAHAAHHAAHHAHA
Danny sux Danny sux!!!!!!!!!!

Pats top cornerbacks Ty Law and Tyrone Poole both put on the IR and Richard Seymour is 50/50 for next week. This is not good.

It sounds bad, but the pats have played so well without them that it really doesnt make any difference. Im just astounded by the way the Pats can lose almost anybody (Except Dillon and Brady) and continue to win. Scary.

This year the Super BowlT is in Jacksonville.
Future Super BowlT Sites are:
2006 (SB XL) - Detroit Lions stadium
2007 (SB XLI) - Miami Dolphins stadium
2008 (SB XLII)- Arizona Cardinals stadium
Chances are that those team won't make it BUT IF THEY DO, and they get to play the Super BowlT at their home stadium, do they get to use their own locker room? Would the league (in their infinite wisdom of fairness) make them dress in the visitors locker room?
