Yeah, no shit. I just figured Al had gotten back on the H and things were going kind of slow since their last few albums didn't really do all that well. Then again what do I know?
I am watching Headbanger's Ball and I see this:
Video Here (http://www.ministry.nu/no_w_video.php)
A really good song I must say and pretty damn entertaining video. Considering the monster show that is being put forth tonight, this song and video really stands out. Kind of reminds me of 1991 all over again. Like Jesus Built My Hotrod and N.W.O.

I personally enjoyed psalm 69 along with N.W.O.

Al is cleaner now than...well, ever. And he's turned into a fucking dork, quite frankly. He was the guest on the first episode of VH1 Classic's "The Alternative" a couple months back, and it was like listening to my dad, but he was dressed up for a homo biker convention.
Oh, wait, that IS my dad.

I guess its full circle then. People who dont have it should find someone with the very early Ministry releases, which were light synth dance-pop. I mean night and day what Jourgensen became.
And 'still together' implies a group. I am indeed clueless as to how much of Ministry is just Al, plus assorted hired guns. Or has he had a somewhat consistent backing band or studio sideman?
Sorta like when I found out the the group Nine in Nails really was, essentially,... Trent.
Both acts have had dedicated help; Chris Connelly worked on more then a couple of Ministry things I think, but my mind blurs into the whole Revolting Cocks [Shit!! Remember the song Beers Steers and Queers!! Shit that one just popped out of my brain] thing, and I forget how much Jourgensen worked with Reznor, shit part of my brain is saying Reznor really steered AJ, or i'm too fried to remember... someone here knows a lot more then i do about NIN
Last one I even bought was Filth Pig. I didnt get The Dark Side of The Spoon [what an awesome title], or anything else they might have done.
Oh to have the days when 'You Know What You Are' or 'Just One Fix'. I made a band I was in cover just one fix, god we sucked at it, I mean if youve heard the song, the lyrics are a teeensy bit distorted, it wasnt so much suck, but transfer that sound to live.
Who am I kidding we sucked. But what a cool song.
Here one; anyone remember Fatima Mansions? I mean the group.

Don't forget Ian MacKaye.
When he and Al were hanging together in Chicago, it was basically the two of them writing songs that really shifted Ministry from synth-pop to the harder stuff.

I have to find the website, maybe someone has it; but it is an exhaustive list of the samples of Movie Lines used in the Ministry albums.
Example; in 'You Know What You Are' thats a line from a Clint Western Movie [GB+U?], and 'Die Motherfucker!' which is repeated in the song is Bill Paxton in 'Aliens'; cool shit.

I knew Ministry was touring, didn't know a new album was coming/out.
And I lost interest in Ministry with Filth Pig as well, but Greatest Fits is played often on my ipod.
And as for Reznor, what about 10000 Homo DJs? Al and Trent get a band together and put out an EP, but the Interscope blocks Reznor's voice from appearing on the cd.

Wow I forgeot about them. You know why? We couldnt play them on the air. It was amazing we got Revolting Cocks on, and the station owner relented when we promised to call them 'Revco' whenever mentioning them in a front or backsell.
Revco! Ack! Sounds like a toy company...

Mike I think I have that Ministry album you are talking about. It has the song Effigy on it. It sounds totally different then their new stuff.

I remember there being a whole bunch of offshoots that Al and Trent put together and they were all somehow related as one big industrial family. Anyone remember them all? These are all the ones that I have had in my collection throughout the years:
* Revolting Cocks
* Lard
* 1000 Homo DJ's
* Pailhead
I found the list of all the Al Jourgenson side-projects and couldn't find Trent Reznor's. Anyone? Anyone?
