Looks like a typical guys is loser. Guy loves girl. Guy loses girl. Guy tried to win back girl via mass slaughter of zombies.

My kind of film. Stars and written by Simon Pegg (Band of Brothers and UK Series Spaced) and Nick Frost (also of Spaced) and Lucy Davis and even Martin Freeman (from The Office). I am half tempted to get the UK Release of the DVD but I also want the anticipation of seeing it and being surprised when it hits theatres here. From the sounds of it, it is not only funny as hell but gory as hell as well.

I've been waiting for this film to be released in the States for a few MONTHS now. I had thought it would simply be distributed on DVD, but I'm glad to see this is going to get something of a theatrical run.

From everything I've seen, it looks to be a comedy-horror zombie flick very much in the same vein as Peter Jackson's "Brain Dead" (aka "Dead Alive"). If it's half as good as that flick, I'll be very satisfied.

Anything like that will surely make me happy. Blood and murder and splatter and gore and ALL of it so mind-blowingly ridiculous you could not even fathom it being real makes me tingle. Ala Re-Animator or these absolute classic scenes.

Bootlegs of it were all over the HORRORFIND weekend in Balmer a few weeks ago - I resisted because I really wanted to see it in the theatre; I loves me some good zombie films!!!

Anyone see this movie yet?? I saw it today and it rocked!!! The initial 30 minutes was slow moving and those british accents were pissing me off because I couldn't understand what they were saying or comprehend some of the jokes. But once the shit hit the fan it was the Bomb!!! A must see. :)

I saw it Friday. Awesomely funny movie, and at the same time it had the sick horror movie characteristics. It started off slow, but I bet if you watch it again (with a better understanding of British accents) the beginning is better. Overall, great movie.

I just saw this movie on Thursday and it was great. From beginning to end (minus the pub scene just before the opening credits, which was slow) it was fantastic.

Highlights include:

The slackers with the headphones--still living or zombies.

The walk Shaun takes on Z-Day when he doesn't notice any of the zombies, or the blood on the glass door of the convience store's refrigerator.

"We're coming to get you, Barbara!" and other zombie genre in-jokes.

The change in tone while they're in the pub near the end, when things become a bit more sombre (critics hated it, thought it was too jarring, I thought it was really poignant).

The wacky ending which was so perfect it made this movie one of my favorites. It matches (if not rivals) the end of Army of Darkness.

Let me ask, since I only saw the UK DVD of it, was there subtitles in the Theatrical release? For somereason i could not turn off the subs when iw as watching my copy. Oh well, I'll be getting the US version when that comes out as well.
