Last month, Pentagon auditors urged the U.S. Army to start withholding millions of dollars in payments to Halliburton until the company justified its bills.
Various government agencies are investigating several aspects of Halliburton's work in Iraq, including allegations of kickbacks by Kuwaiti subcontractors and improper charges totaling hundreds of millions of dollars.
I just read this article and i got pretty damn PO'd. Not that it's an anti-Republican thing but because it's another example of corporate corruption. HOW THE FUCK do they expect millions of dollars in 'taxpayer' money when they haven't even justified the billing? In a time of war, at a time when more people are living in poverty and without healthcare.
It just shows you that some of these Corporate Executives have no soul. It just so happened in this situation the dealing of Halliburton got exposed due to Cheney's conflicting positions. Otherwise they would have taken the money and run.
BUT! What can be done about it? I heard George Bush saying to people recently that a law that was put into affect has ceased corporate corruption or 'in the boardrooms' as he stated... Give me a fucking break!
