He had better no get bumped because those annoying people run on into his time. He should just toss that proverbial bucket of AIDS on them.

I am really surprised they're having a guy like Norton on that show. He's gonna really have to clean up his set for it to be family-friendly enough for network TV, especially Leno.

I'm definitely watching. Thanks for the heads up.

I think that's the fantastic part.

If you listen to Jim, he's got some things to say, he's got some actual ideas and opinions with some meat to them; they get smothered with commentary about rest stops and yeast infections and how pathetic his body is, but he can do what the old schoolers had to do: Carlin, Pryor, Bruce etc. and clean it up for TV, put on a jacket and tie [back then] and Still have it Kick Ass.

Now some of the above started clean and went dirty so when, say, Carlin hosted the Tonight Show as he did many times, he could be Carlin, the Regular Joe. I've also seem Carlin Live when he was so Pissed Off and Blue the Audience was almost scared.

The true test is being able to do it. Is it selling out? Fuck no and Fuck no again. This is the Tonight Show. On an average night more people will see you on Leno then if you did three straight years, playing to 1,000 people every night.

Many times over that amount.

He can do it. He's got the goods.

I agree with Mike. He was amazing when he came out at the end of last season's Last Comic Standing. My girlfriend didn't know much about him and she thought he was hilarious. That's on prime-time network television. Not that I think middle-America is ready for Jim Norton, but he's ready for the big time.

BTW, his blog is fuckin' phenomenal.

OK I googled: This was for week of March 2004:

Current season-to-date averages for "Tonight" are a 2.3 rating, 10 share among adults 18-49 and 6.2 million viewers overall.

Is it up from now down? who cares. I love math.

6.2 Million = 6,200,000. Divide by 1000 = lopping off 3 zeros = 6,200.

So, a person would have to do 6,200 concerts, each with an audience of 1,000 people [I use that as a reference, the places ive seen carlin, norton, etc hold around 1,000].

Do 6,200 shows. 6,200/365 = 16.98 sheesh thats 17 to me on a test. I'm not one of Those teachers.

17 years of gigs, 1,000 a night to see 6,200,000 people. Or, be on the Tonight Show for One night.

[Edit: Now ya know why Rupert Pupkin did what he did. hey Jimmy open with That! You read this sometimes! Oh man he should Dress as Rupert!]

=

Wow will I feel like a dick when I post this and find my math is dead wrong.

I'm with ya chop it down 90%, still 620 shows of 1,000 a piece. Me? I'd still rather do Leno. Less travel for sure. :)

Anyone going to watch tonight.

Nope, but I'm sure it will be edgy and mind blowing and unlike anything that's ever been by anyone anywhere or anytime ever.

Actually, I would not at all be surprised if Leno has O&A on in a week or two, and that this appearance is helping to lay the groundwork for that. If, for no other reason, than Leno knows it will cheese off Stern.

Im not so sure that Jimmy is going to perform tonight since they usually only do one act a night and the listing on Yahoo (http://tv.yahoo.com/tvpdb?d=tvp&id=169012713&cf=0&lineup=us_NY55894&channels=us_WNBC&chspid=166031396&chname=NBC+4&progutn=1095132900&.intl=us) says that Sam Roberts will be performing...

Nice plug for OnA by Jay. Norton fn killed. The B cup/ Judy Blume line made me fall out of my chair. Great job by Jimmy, and the audience seemed to be into it. I heard one of the "guys" from Will and Grace laugh really loud on more than one occasion.

Just ask Mojo - I'm always right.

60% of the time.

And man, I know "The Tonight Show" is massive exposure, but if I were a comedian, it'd feel like daggers in my eyes to have to shill for a hack like Leno. I mean, "sellout" gets tossed around a lot, but Leno really epitomizes the very definition of that term. So much so that people have honestly forgotten he was truly funny at one time.

But, like Mike the T said, you can't beat those numbers..."Tough Crowd" may be good for a diddle, but it probably doesn't cover the bills.

<a href="Katelyn Faber"><img src="http://members.cox.net/nicksporsche/bushchen.jpg" border=0></a>

well let's see...

from nbc:

To date, "Will & Grace" has been nominated for 49 Emmys, 24 Golden Globes, fourteen SAG Awards and six People's Choice Awards. Among its 12 Emmy wins, the show won as Outstanding Comedy Series in 2000. In 2002 and 2003, it had more Emmy nominations than any other comedy series. Additionally, it's been nominated for an American Comedy Award, three GLAAD Media Awards and a Founders Award from the Viewers for Quality Television.
