Did I miss something or have they recently stopped doing the FH completely? If so why? I loved that.

Only on Mondays. The Redskins' show is on at 11 AM.

I know they haven't done 11 am for a while, but I thought that they were still doing Fh from 7-8.

They have definitely strayed from a strict "Fastest Hour" for the first hour. They still generally cover current events in teh first hour, but it's no longer referred to on-air as "the fastest hour". Also, they sometimes take calls during that time, which they never did before. Some nights they abandon it completely, like on Friday when the first segment was talking to Paul O about the hurricane and the second segment was the first segment about 9-11 three years later.

Tonight, so far, they covered the beginning of the NFL season and are playing Bushisms, which really isn't a standard "Fastest Hour".

They took calls inside the first hour tonite, which ain't SOP for "Fastest Hour ." Seems that the
'Fastest Hour in Radio" is becoming the "firstest hour of the R&F show."

I listened to much of the show - I didn't hear any recap on Fez's family up from Florida or him going to the Sunday Redskins/Tampa game. Was there any mention of his weekend??

Yes, and they reran it today on Fastest Hour! Fez and the Family Whatley went to the Budweiser tent at the game where they encountered Don G. and Buzz B. from another popular WJFK Radio program. Fez expressed shame at having his family meet his co-workers. Ron chastised Fez for his shame.

But remember...it's nice that someone as old as Fez still has his parents "with him."

Sorry I missed that!!

So, which was Fez more ashamed of - the coworkers meeting the family, or the family meeting the coworkers?

Mama Whatley - So, that's Don Geronimo - not at all what I imagined.

Papa Whatley - He's not nearly as fat as they say on the bulleten boards.

Mama Whatley - You're not still posting on those boards, are you dear?

Papa Whatley - Mind your own business, woman.

Mama Whatley - And for some reason I got the impression from you that Buzz was a beautiful lady?

Papa Whatley - Are ya blind? Look at his lifelike hair and beard.

Mama Whatley - I meant that Fez made it sound like that Buzz was some hot thing at work.

Papa Whatley - Well...he is kind of cute. For a man, I mean.

Mama Whatley - He looks like a pirate if you ask me.

Papa Whatley - I didn't.

Mama Whatley - ((Marge Simpsons growl))

Papa Whatley Where's this Crazy Jim you keep complaining about, boy? Is he here today?

Mama Whatley - Crazy JEN! Crazy JEN!

Papa Whatley - Yeah - are we going to meet him at the game too?

Mama Whatley - How come Don and Buzz are sitting in those seats? They look better than ours?

Papa Whatley - Do you think they'd mind if we sat with them.

Mama Whatley - That way you boys can talk about radio!

Papa Whatley - Those are better seats.

Fez Whatley - Oh, Ga!

And...scene...

I love taking the calls during the first hour, irrespective of whatever they call it. R+F rule at taking calls, and the callers can often rock, as they did on the shows you mentioned. More calls = more gooder IMHO. Sadly, some disagree strongly [not any board member].

Maybe they should call it the "Fullest Hour in Radio".

They seem to be back on track with the content of the Fastest Hour being all about news stories. They still take calls, and sometimes this week the callers have tried to derail the flow of the show, but Commandant Fez was right there ready with the next story.

Did anyone notice that the Purina One cat commercial campaign ended about a month ago?

You can do that, because you're sovereign... which means .... you're.. sovereign. Because... you're ..sovereign. It's hard work. You work hard. Because you're sovereign. You get up in the morning, and you work hard. It's hard work.

JB To JFK - 11/22 - DCRTV hears that, starting Tuesday, James Brown (left) - "JB" of Fox Sports football coverage - will be heard on WJFK-FM at 11 AM. Replacing the "Ron And Fez" rerun (from the previous evening). We assume that Bill O'Reilly will still air at noon on 106.7. Brown hosts "The James Brown Radio Show," broadcast weekdays from 10 AM to noon on Sporting News Radio. Also, he's a reporter for HBO's "Real Sports With Bryant Gumbel" and a boxing host for HBO pay-per-view. Way back when, Brown was a sportscaster for DC's Channel 9.....

they've been advertising the James Brown show at the 11 am spot, so I guess no more fastest hour. It was fun while it lasted.

Now if I could only pick up sportstalk 980, I could get Tony Kornheiser, the timing of these moves is very interesting.

Here is a link to the website. Lets hope they keep JB and ditch O'Reilly.

My job is not the biggest fan of internet streaming, so I can't really listen that way.

The James Brown show is actually from 10 to 12, so they're only playing the second hour, and there is no overlap with O'Reiley.

Damnit. That's the only thing good about this is if O'Really had been bumped for good. I still enjoyed the 11am replay - it gave me a chance to catch part of a show I might have missed - it also sometimes gave me a chance to hear something funny again the next day.
