I am so sick of hearing about the borders. we have huge borders with forrest and lakes. it would be near impossible to protect every inch of it. tens or maybe hundreds of billions would need to be spent. personally, I do not think the invest would be worth it. its not like 9-11 happened because the borders were unsafe.

maybe the drugs that come in are the main problem (if we are strictly speaking from a security standpoint). if we are talking about immigrants and health care costs and jobs, it is a different story, but still not worth the investment.

I do not think this is such a huge issue as many other one's affecting our country now. i do not think it deserves a Time Magazine cover. I think the reason it is so huge is because news makes it this huge.

Maybe I am wrong here, i have not read the whole article. The part i saw on the website says that there may be as many as 15 million illegals in the country right now. they get illegal papers and work. but you know what?? they work, and that is the benefit of having them here. no american citizen wants to do what they do. if there were no jobs or work, they would not come. but there is a niche in our economy for them.

if we want to stop immigration through our borders, we should clip it at the source. find the buinsesses that hire illegals and pay them under the table. also, find the people who provide the illegal SS numbers as well as the information and get them. invest in our infrastructure before we invest on the borders.
