Recently I bought a laptop and added a wireless card through a combo router and wireless card that Microsoft offered, though I should have shopped around more and thought about this before I went and bought it. I mean, the card and router work great, my signal strength is really good. It's a 802.11g and I have no connectivity issues whatsoever. However I do have problems with using Kazaa or Torrents from time to time, and some friends have told me it's the router and Microsoft's networking (Microsoft Network) that's fucking things up.
So I'm contemplating getting a different router and I'm thinking either Linksys or Netgear, or even the Apple airport but I'm just not sure which is the better way to go. Any suggestions.

i am a big fan of linksys. they were bought out by Cisco, and their shit has always worked great for me. I have it in my apartment and love it.
Though I do not think the router is your problem. I have the same problem on my desktop with those. it is something in the code, especially if you have them running for a long time or are downloading a lot of shit. they tend to start to run slow, and make everythign else feel like it is running slow. everyonce in a while i will also lose network capability.
if you want to upgrade, go linksys, but i would not do it.
BTW, like a good boy I am sure you have WEP turned on? That to could be the problem. sometimes it looses connections because of that. If you do have that on, there are some settings to change. let me know and I will help you out.

Cisco corporate routers are the best around. most major companies use them exclusivly.

Ag's post fucked up the thread, so I had to delete it. But here's what he said:
yes Linksys is now owned by Cisco and from what Ive herd they make industrial routers. However Netgear seems to be a bit more freindier. Not so much user but looks. The Geek Squad at work told me to go with netgear, and All I bought was a PCI card
I have a Belkin wireless router and it sucks balls and cuts out on me. So don't buy Belkin!
