My ex-sife called me today and invited me to an all expenses paid trip to New Delhi, India....She's an investment banker and has to go there for over a month...she offered me a trip for 3 weeks with her...should I do it...does anyone know anything about India????

hi reeshy
i spent 6 weeks in delhi lasty year doing a computer course

it was a really good experience, on the positive side delhi is safe, a completely new culture, and there are some really interesting place near at hand, english is widely spoken so you get a better insite into the people. tv wise they have some of the fox channels to watch and there are come decent news papers. most things are very cheap(1/10 of the western prices) so you feel like a millionaire. haggling is good fun

on the negitive side - delhi is very ugly, smelly, you will see serious poverty, people beg/hastle white people all the time, outside the bigger hotels there are only about 5 bars in all delhi, nothing happens after dark. you will get ill when getting accustomed to the food (delhi belly) but there is an abundance of decent cheap doctors, i lost 2 stone.

most tourists hate delhi and get out after about 3 days, i went to goa, bombay, north india and nepal after delhi and they were all much much better.

well i am saying if you value new experiences india offers a view of a completely different and amazing world, but there are more popular places to go in india than delhi and if you are a neat freak or a hypocondriac, delhi will be your idea of hell

we had a great time, but delhi was not a highlight
