I need some friendly advice on where to go after my surgery. My father wants to buy my love since he's never been around. I say OK!
I'm looking for a nice warm place on the beach. I would like to rent a ranch type of place that's close to restaurants and bars...but nothing crazy like Fort Lauderdale or any party town. Something fun and nice but low key. I'm leaning towards somewhere in Florida since it's not too far. But is there even a Florida left?
Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!
oh yeah..I'd like to go from Oct. 3-12

Scottsdale, Arizona is always nice.
Will you be able to drive after your surgery?

Aruba.
Gets a lot of the cruise ship crowd, but you can still find some seclusion. Also, it is never hit by hurricanes.
Hey - maybe a cruise. Nothing more relaxing, and you can check out many fabulous ports of call.

I second the cruise idea. They are a great way to get away from everything and enjoy the good life for a week or two. They take you to great beaches (if you get one that goes and docks places) and on board you have everything you could ever want all in one spot.
But that's not really a ranch like you are looking for, but hey, change is good!

Aruba is beautiful. Also, Miami is nice.

Stay at the Sandals resort in Turks and Caico's islands. an all inclusive place that is just awesome.
if you want to stay in the states, i would have to say Florida is your best bet.
Scottsdale is nice, but you have to drive EVERYWHERE and nothing is really that close. i was just there 3 weeks ago.

I stayed at the Sandals in Turks and Caicos and "Beaches" is much better than Sandals. However, the island is paradise and both places are all inclusive so it doesn't really matter.
I live in Fort Lauderdale right now and it doesn't have to be "crazy" per se, you can make of it what you will. There's a million places to party but there are just as many places to kick back and relax as well.
What about St. Tropez (sp?) I've heard so much nice stuff about it.
