View Full Version : 70's soft rockers...BUSTED FOR AMERICA!!!

I only caught the first hour of the show tonight, but most of the first hour was R&F and the staff celebrating the triumphant American victory over the nefarious Cat Stevens. They were letting callers on bringing news of other 70's AM radio icons being brought to justice by the forces of freedom, and it was one of the rare instances where the DC/VA/MD callers pulled off a great unofficial Comedy Pyramid.
I wanted to call in about Christopher "American Taliban" Cross being dragged out of his secret cave lair by Special Forces, but alas, was nowhere near a phone.
In short, look out for the file when Mikey adds it to the library. Great bit!

He couldn't even get the taunt right.
Just kidding M1.
It was a complete shock to me when they nabbed Don McLain. Turns out American Pie is actually bitterly sarcastic.

My sources tell me that the Office of Homeland Security plans to erase Cat Stevens' songs from all future DVD editions of Harold and Maude, replacing them with Toby Keith's jingoistic anthems.
Memo to the members of the group, America: Just because you call yourself "America" doesn't mean we don't have our eyes on you. We're fully aware that such songs as "Tin Man" and "Ventura Highway" are thinly-veiled Islamo-fascist screeds.

Yeah, it was pretty funny. Actually, the entire show yesterday was pretty great - ending it with Fez in a fit of hysterical laughter (at Tommy's expense), which he couldn't stop. REALLY outstanding! Reminded me of the glee Fez used to get just by teasing WB with the "Ray Bottoms" nick name.
it was one of the rare instances where the DC/VA/MD callers pulled off a great unofficial Comedy Pyramid.
Thank you Mr. Angelino.

Hey, just being honest. I'm not all "doom 'n' gloom" like some people, but the attempts at Comedy Pyramids here when they were "official" were a LOT more miss than hit.
In other news, Boston, Chicago, Japan and Europe have all been taking in for questioning under suspicion of being the "spotters" in a multi-nation simultaneous dirty bomb-strike.

Oddly enough, no one really considers Kansas that much of a threat.

You're tellin' me they're letting Kansas off the hook? "Carry on My Wayward Son," is a blatant endorsement of that "wayward son" of the Bin Laden clan, Osama. "Dust in the Wind," despite its Yoda-like syntax, offers a stern warning to Western civilization: "all your money won't another minute buy."

The govermnet also has taken New England into custody, an announcement to which the nation has uttered a collective "Who?"

The terror alert has been raised to red as it has been revealed that Asia has indeed begun..."THE FINAL COUNTDOWN."
Oh yeah, DC comedy pyramids suck, and KOP's a girl.

I would go as far as to say pwned. Maybe even pwn3d.
And speaking of old bits, how come no one is talking about Catty Fez? It felt to me like a bit of Fezatorial, anyone else think so?
