So has Wonderboys job been absorbed by the rest of the JFK staff?
Seems like J dubs has stepped up with help from Tommy Bats.

Basically JDubs and Tommy are doing the majority of the producer jobs. Dubs is running the board and Tommy is in the back room with the interns.

Runs the board during spots or runs the board period? In the WNEW days, Fez ran the board during the show while Ron was in the "Anthony" position, and then Hawk/WB/Rory traded off running the spots.

Fez used to run the board during the show, but now he sits on the other side of the console near Ronnie.
THe studio is set up like a "J". Ronnie sits in the corner of the studio at the bottom tip of the J and Fez is in the curve. JDubs sits across from Fez and Ron in the middle of the studio with all of the controls.

Fez stopped running the board earlier this year. He always sat down durng "Fastest Hour," but still ran things in the evening. I think it was about the time they started the shows live at 7pm, or maybe when they began Baltimore, although it seems like it may have been even longer than that. Definately sometime this year.
As far as the producer goes - I don't think J-Dubs and Tommy are a longterm fix for the role. Maybe JFK would like that, because it would save them money, but R&F really need someone 100% dedicated to them.
I haven't heard anything regarding the official search, though. You would think something would come down the pike soon, because that job opened up a long time ago.
And to sort of lump onto something Jafter said - the studio is REALLY small. I mean, I think my college station was bigger.

curtoid actually is the new producer. He's just keeping it under wraps because he fears the wrath of zappa.

(a) As long as I have a computer between myself and everyone else, I fear no one, especially Fidel...I mean Zappa, (b) I have a good idea how much a R&F producer might make, and I have already done my community service/ volunteer/ intern work in my youth and (c) my time at a college radio station gave me more than enough radio production to know that is not what i wanted to do. Much more fun to sit back and pretend to know everything from the other side of the radio -and the computer!!!
I do think R&F should bring back the "Big Ass Cards" concept, but instead call them "Remote Producer Cards" - it would be a way to encourage the listeners to be part of the show, etc, etc, etc.

But then how can I get my huge ass to be officially verified as such?
