I'm currently in a situation where my girlfriend needs a car within the next two weeks.

We have about 3K we can drop on a car.

I've been searching the classifieds and online, but I've realized that the best deals usually come from those cars that aren't advertised in the papers - the ones that just have signs on them and are parked out on the side of the road and what not.

Unfortunately, I can't cover the entire state of New Jersey.

So here's what I'm offering... I'm looking for the following makes and models of cars. If anyone can find me a car like this, I will give you 50 bucks cold hard cash.

PREFERRED CARS:

- Plymouth or Dodge Neon preferably late 90's but willing to look at a 95 or 96 in good condition...

OR

A Pontiac Grand Am, same model years.

Basically, we're looking for a compact with decent gas mileage. She really likes the Neons and the Grand Ams, and I can't really think of any other cars that'll fit the bill for her.

If you see something like I've described that's in the late 90's and in our price range, let me know.

- HAS TO BE in good to excellent condition cosmetically. No damage, scratches, etc.

- Has to have decent mileage. I would like it to be under 80K.

- Automatic

- If there is a price listed on the car, it has to be in the neighborhood of 3000. The top top ceiling I have is 3400. It's like a 6K car, don't bother.

- Has to be in New Jersey so there's not a problem with taxation and everything. Sorry.

****

Here's how you make your money.

First, if you see a potential car, please, DO NOT CALL THE OWNER. This will just confuse the seller, and screw up negotiations for me. Take down the information about the car from what you see of it and then PM it to me.

I will make the call and discuss the car with the owner. If it falls within our parameters, and we buy the car, you'll get your 50 bucks.

Very easy. Thanks for all your help.

Wow... Neon or Grand Am? I don't mean to burst your bubble but if your going to invest on a used car, especially for the price range, you should look into a Honda, Toyota, or Nissan... they'll last way longer than a Dodge or Pontiac... but if you have to pick between the two, look for a Pontiac.

I looked, but most of them are out of the price range.

I said Neons or Grand Ams were preferred, but I'm looking for something that fits the needs if people have some suggestions.

As I said, the foreign compacts with low mileage are out of my price range.

Reeshy - if you're serious about that car, PM me.
