AdAware and SpyBot update question

has anyone have problems updating these programs? my programs seem to not want to update when I go to do so...also had this with my AVG anti-Virus, but found the update on line.

AdAware generally has an update weekly. Maybe your firewall or anivirus settings need to be changed.

I had exactly the same problem, and the only way to resolve it is to completely delete them and re-install their new versions.

For some reason, AdAware SE (The new version replacing 6.0) required major updates there for a while, the updates required downloading a whole new version of the program that uninstalls the old and replaces it with a new one, I think 1.05 is the latest so I've done it 5 times.

Usually the updates aren't so involved.

I have the latest version of ad-aware pro and it updates pretty regularly. If there aren't updates on their live update thinger than I usually download the ref/definitions file that they post on their website whenever there's an update.

I do the same because more often than not their websites have the update posted quicker than their updaters get them.
