Anyone have any positive feedback from any of these job finding sites like Monster, Hot Jobs and Career Builder? Are there any others? Im thinking of changing my field and was wondering if some are better than others. The job I have now I found on Monster, but I keep looking on there and it doesnt seem to be a fruitfull as it use to be.

I like Craigslist.com. I find alot of freelance work there but I know a few people who have found full time jobs there.

If only there was a website (http://www.osirusonline.com/jobsearch.html) that had all the best job search sites all in one place (http://www.osirusonline.com/jobsearch.html).

I had SHITTY luck with all of the job finding sites, including washingtonjobs.com (from the Washington Post).

The last year I sent out over a two hundred resumes - went on an interview one in every four times - half of those I went back for a second interview - and ultimately, of all of those, I had four different job offers.

ALL but maybe one or two I got called back for on interviews were jobs I got from the physical Sunday edition of the Washington Post. For whatever reason, there were jobs in there that I did not see in the online addition. Don't ask me to explain why, but there they were.

One job I interviewed for told me they had over 200 applicants apply - and they were in the physical paper only. Since people rely so much on the internet now, I can only imagine that that number could have been anywhere from twice as many, to ten-times as many for the companies that also posted it online.

TWO TRICKS THAT HELPED ME: If they had both an e-mail address and a fax number, I would send my resume to both. Also, once I began including letters of references as attachment with the actual resume, the number of call back increased (you have to have killer letters of references, though).

Im thinking of going back into the physical field, like driving a truck or doing some kind of light labor. The office environment I think is destroying me

Maybe a job requirement is the actual ability and desire to read the newspaper and that's why they advertise there. I can only guess that since the job market is pretty weak (particularly for tech jobs) that they want to limit their candidates a bit. I could be way off, though. I'm a nurse, there are a ton of jobs out there for me. Problem is, they all suck.

dice.com (http://www.dice.com)

or

flipdog.com (http://www.flipdog.com)

I should know I am unemployed. However the 3 you mentioned happen to be the best for finding a job and get in touch with as many recruiters as possible because getting your name out there will help you match up to better jobs. I would say recruiters have gotten me 80% of my interviews. I am in IT as software QA or Business Analyst
