Man, what a depressing movie that was. I was at least hoping for a happy ending but do I get one? NOPE! Everyone dies.

What a mood lifter that is.

Besides for that I suppose the movie was OK. Acting was all right, nothing stellar. The paranoia I was expecting from the movie was not as high as I had wanted but I bet if I ever go scuba diving this movie will be in the back of my mind.

How depressing must it be to be stuck in the water watching other boats float around way out in the distance knowing they will never see you.

And then to make the decision to just give up on life itself and sacrifice yourself to the sea.. makes you shudder.

Anyway, I'll give the movie a C+. Too depressing for me for the time I watched it. You have to be in the mood for this kind of thing.

I hated this movie more than I've hated a movie in a long time. The only points it gets is for the near full frontal from the chick. The movie was boring, the acting was about what you'd expect from soft porn actors, and the tone was obnoxious. Rather than suspenseful music they play a bunch of islanders humming. And when they do play suspenseful music, it's usual during some innocuous scene like a sun rise. It fails on so many levels it's unbelievable. In order to be remotely terrified of this movie, you have to have an actual fear of being trapped in the ocean. And if that's the case, think about being trapped in the ocean for 90 minutes. Trust me, you'll have a better time than you would watching this movie. And you'll save on gas money, too.

I found an "Open Water" thread by typing "Open Water" into the search engine. How weird! (http://www.ronfez.net/messageboard/viewmessages.cfm/Forum/80/Topic/40666/page/Open_Water.htm)
