Just rolling across the scroll as BREAKING NEWS on SportsCenter. Died of a Heart Attack. No link have I found yet.

Damn, this guy was such a monster hitter. From what I recall he was with San Diego and Texas but most of his career was with Houston.

This must be from the steroid use he had admitted to. I hope this shakes something up in the league for more testing of player. Steroids are no joke, look at how many wrestlers have died young. they really take a toll on your body.

this also may have A LOT to do with it.

Just last Tuesday, he admitted in a Houston court that he violated his probation by testing positive for cocaine last month, and was sentenced to 180 days in jail.

I have had 2 friends who have used cocaine and steroids concurently, and they both wound up in serious trouble in the hospital.

Well it was'nt just steriods. He also used cocaine so that certainly helped the deterioration of his body along.
But 41?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? damn that's young.
This one certainly was a surprise.

"What did he want???"
"What do all men want Phillip?"
"He wants you to dress up like Wonder Woman, tie him up with your golden lariat and force him to tell the truth?????"

Holy shit! I don't know if I've ever been knocked out of my chair by something I saw/heard on SportsCenter at 6:30am. Wow, what a damn shame, he was such a great player for a while, and so much fun to watch play. But, unfortunately I can't bring myself to feel all that bad for a junkie when he can't get clean with all the resources possible. That sucks.

Thats sad news.

No, it is not. This fucking douche bag not only did multiple illegal drugs, but ratted out his exteamates by saying that everyone was on the roids. Did'nt they arrest this f-tard in a hotel room for doing something stupid? I have no sympathy for someone who gets a God given talent that can make him millions for playing a fucking game that most of us have to pay to play, then pisses it down the toilet on drugs. To Ken Caminiti, I have two words, See ya................

I shucked it, and I shucked it, and I shucked it, i'm quite the mother shucker

the man suffered enough with his demons and now it's over. now the people around who loved him will suffer from broken hearts and the guilt or feeling of failure that they were unable to help him..

from what i have seen the cocaine stopped being enjoyable a long time ago, it had just become a necessary evil in his life edit: like this board

Buster Olney wrote a great article regarding Caminiti's death and the steroid issue in baseball, I suggest you give it a look (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?columnist=olney_buster&id=1899398)

Preliminary results of the autopsy performed on Ken Caminiti show that the former National League MVP died of a drug overdose, a New York City police source told ESPN's Jeremy Schaap. (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1902132)

What the hell was he doing in the Bronx anyway? He wasn't from the area, was he?
