I really don't mean for this thread to be a Bush bash fest. I don't want to go on off tangents about how Geroge Bush might be going senile or something is wrong with him. I just ran across this video (http://home.comcast.net/~blogitics/BushTenYrs4MB.mov) and it amazes me. That's a guy I could envision voting for. Just ignore the snarky comments and the 2004 debate footage. What happened to that guy? This is just very interesting video.

I was expecting a bash-fest (as i normally always do with any animation made for htis election), but thankfully they kept the Bias to a minimum. I think that the pre-senile dementia thing is a bit of a stretch and that while it could be the cause it could also be stress or just lack of knowledge, I know I've fumbled in front of people too and it's not because I'm turning senile.

And his speaking ten years ago was excellent. If only he talked like that today.

When Bush ran for Gov, and President, both times he was the challenger, with no record to defend. Now he's on the defensive and has 4 years of failure to face. I'd be fumbling for words, too, if that were the case.

Guess he should have stuck with being a Governor. I think the Presidency was beyond his means, and the way he ended up in office (defeating the clearly superior McCain, and then the Florida debacle), not to mention what we've been through with him in office, makes me think he was "supposed" to end up there.

This is a topic that I've seen come up a few times in the past, where Democratic leaning Texans (writers for Texas Monthly, Kinky Friedman) said that, back in the day, W actually could articulate clearly and was not the ideologue that I've come to know and dislike. I'm with COS in that I think the dementia claim is based on nothing (I didn't remember the claim in the Atlantic but I went back and checked and found it was only a letter, not in an article.) To me, the best explanation of what we're seeing with W is a man who is clearly out of his depth but is too competitive and stubborn to get real counsel and advice and rather than admit that he's gotten lost he just keeps getting angrier while driving faster. We've got to take the keys away, people.
