First time I've heard that. Will they be piggybacking and broadcasting Joe Beningo?

The as-yet unnamed network would broadcast up to 125 Mets games a season.
And what will they being doing with the other 21 hours of those days? Not to mention the other 240 days of the year with no Mets games? Shit, the YES Network at least has some "Classic" games & interesting former Yankees players to tap into...and their programming is still tedious as hell sometimes.

Can't you just see it now:

Next on METS-ography...why we traded away Nolan Ryan.
Next on METS-ography...why we traded away Tom Seaver.
Next on METS-ography...why we traded for Keith Hernandez even after the cocaine allegations. Stay tuned, this one actually works out for us!
All next on the MET Network...Mildly Entertaining Television!

AWFUL!

I hope they put up a Mets satellite so they can bypass some of the FCC language barriers:

"Holy Living Fuck can you believe the ump called that third strike?"

"I can't fucking believe that Asshole had the nutsac, anyway, we're still Scoreless, just like my buddy here at the hotel last night, Whiskey Dick, again, Bob? Shit. We'll resume this Cluster Fuck right after this..."

Yeah, that .000001 rating that YES gets running that Michael Kay crap is riviting. No one, not even Yankee fans, watch that shit. The only thing besides the Yankee games that get any rating is Mike and the Mad Dog, O.K. terrific. Maybe we can get Wally and the Keeg.

I shucked it, and I shucked it, and I shucked it, i'm quite the mother shucker

For Sunday mornings, they should have a McLaughlin Group-type show with Mookie Wilson as the host...

I hope they do a retrospective on Lindsey Nelson's collection of amazing sportcoats!

Like this one that currently resides in the Baseball Hall of Fame's Broadcasters Wing...

I think it's going to be different from YES. With Yes the biggest investor was Goldman-Sachs. The Mets are going to be partners with Time Warner Cable and Comcast Cable. Comcast has already set up other regional sport networks so that is why they will be running the day to day operations. And with two cable companies involved I think they may be able to show more original programing then YES. Just like how Best Damn Sports show is shown throughout the country on the regional Fox Sports Net stations, I think the Met channel would have access to shows from the other Comcast sports networks.

I know, and I stated as much. I'm just saying that the whole network is a bad idea. And, for the record, I'm a Yankees fan & I detest Michael Kay.

As your favorite poster, I COMMAND YOU to stop saying such hurtful and true things about my beloved Mets.
Admitting the problem is the first step along the road to recovery (buying a Yankees cap & burning the Mets hat is the second). :)
I will gladly back off.

Since they're in Flushing, I think "OY!" would be a nicer title.
